The guy who dresses up as the chief each game is almost always a white undergraduate student who has the role all year. Is that racist too? If not then why Corso?

Didn't know students are Chief Osceola.
Here's something about the blessing from the tribe:
Here's something about the blessing from the tribe:
quote:
In the 1980s and 1990s, when mascots based on Native Americans became more controversial and many Native Americans and supporters protested their use, Florida State consulted with the Seminole Tribe of Florida, emphasizing that Osceola was never intended to be demeaning. Several representatives of the Seminole Tribe, including Chairman James E. Billie and Council Member Max Osceola, have given FSU their blessing to use Osceola and Seminole imagery.[10][11] However, the matter remains controversial for other Florida Seminoles, as well as members of the Seminole Tribe of Oklahoma.[5][11][12] Critics have noted a political undercurrent in this support from Seminole leaders, who are heavily involved in business ventures such as Indian casinos in the state.[5] In 2005, FSU was among the schools potentially facing NCAA sanctions for using "hostile and abusive" Indian mascots and names; after much deliberation, the NCAA gave FSU an exemption, citing the university's relationship with the Seminole Tribe of Florida as a major factor.[11][13]

Chief is an actual Seminole. We are also fully supported by the tribe and have members who attend every game
that's probably the coolest tradition in college football imo

What the NCAA did to North Dakota after what they let FSU get away with is asinine. UND had backing of tribe and the letter their president wrote was a masterpiece.

I think most of these issues are not exactly black and white and I have always agreed that it is ridiculous that the Redskins is still a sports team name today (not that I am vehemently opposed to it).
With that said, it is hard for me to find what Corso did offensive. I'd be interested in hearing responses from Florida St but it is in line with what he does every week. He always does something at the end of gameday involving team's mascots. If that weren't the case, I can see the point of a complaint. But that is the whole point of the end of the segment. Did he do anything offensive in the outfit? I've only seen the gif of Murray slamming him.

Still waiting to hear what "support" cost per year.

Not to mention the ridiculous double standard. We find out that Paula Deen said the N word 20 years ago, and she has to be destroyed. But Jesse Jackson gets caught making anti-Semitic slurs, and he even got caught lying about it, and people

I really love it when people are offended for people who aren't offended at all.
