Simple question.

QB drops back and throws it to where the WR is supposed to be. Prior to the ball being in the air, the CB gets beat and holds the WR. Due to the hold, the WR can't get to the ball. Ball lands incomplete 50 yards downfield.

Should the offense get the ball where the ball lands?

ETA: Whether the foul occurs at the LOS or 50 yards downfield, the result is the same. The CB illegally prevented the WR from catching the ball. However, in one scenario, it's a 5 yard penalty. In the other scenario, it's a 50 yard penalty.

The same number as Peyton, Rodgers, and Brees at this point in their career.

Wait, so you're saying PI should only be a 15 yard penalty if a defender tackles a receiver on a ball that he was going to catch?

I am saying that the Packers exploit a loophole in DPI that all you need to do to initiate contact is to have a deliberately shitty underthrown bomb that the receiver has to do a dead stop in his tracks to catch, and he STILL probably can't catch it.

If the DB takes out the WR because he got beat, sure.

If the DB has great coverage on a bomb but there's an incidental brush or armbar, personal foul 15 yards.

It's gotten to the point where DBs have to be clairvoyant to avoid DPI. You have to play with the assumption that you're defending a well-thrown ball. You place an unreasonable burden on the DB: tracking the receiver AND predicting where the ball will be thrown.

The Packers offense has always been very reliant on YAC. His WRs are getting tackled so the offense looks like crap. Thatswhat separates Peyton from everyone else he was never reliant on YAC for his production

If you get pressure on him, he sucks.

If you give him all day to throw, he will carve yo arse like a thanksgiving turkey.

You want to point to his efficiency or whatever, that's fine. But, people beat off over TD passes when he just got the 80 yd PI call to the 1 thing, got good field position on another drive with some ridic out of bounds call where the ball was never out of bounds on the kickoff, etc., etc. Did he suck after two weeks? No. Should we crown him GOAT for piling up TDs against a shite team? No.

Yeah I agree. We should wait until he does this for a few seasons and sprinkle a Super Bowl ring in there somewhere.
