Where does it say this?
Let me ask this too, were you one of the many who were pushing for a rematch in 06?

Its just logic the entire popularity contest should at least start with what we know are objectively the best teams in their own conferences, and that has always been my opinion.

I prefer this one, since we all know that cfb didn't started until 1990.

I always heard it didn't begin till 2000

In the context of college football, consensus National Champions has a different meaning.

Can we not call it the World Series, because no Japanese teams are represented?

It's just the term we use.

Consensus means recognized by major polls.

I can agree with you there for the most part, but I think you can agree that not all conferences are equal.

FBS College Football is the only sport in the world where that matters

Too bad that doesn't make the fact any less valid. Had there been a playoff in place Alabama still would have made an appearance as an at-large team.

Except it's a fact. Some of the BCS conferences still don't have title games.

If you picked a national champion based on who had the cutest jersey it would be valid, its a popularity contest.

That was the system then. You can try and say those aren't legit, but if the National champ is decided before the bowl, does it matter if they lost the bowl. And for USC are you claiming 03, and 04? If so, yall have 7

NCAA says 9

They need to fix 04 though. The BCS and FWAA were officially vacated. Should just have the AP and NFF.

Well 04 shouldn't be listed. That's been vacated. And since 98, nothing but the BCS champion matters. So yall are down to 7, with your last one in the 70's

Nope. SOrry Mr. Butt Hurt. And 04 is STLL unanimous, as SC is the ONLY team with a NC that year.

Put that in your pipe and

It's your opinion...a lot of other people have a completely different opinion.

Which is why this whole - most championships argument is stupid. Everyone just adjusts the goalposts to suit their need or argument or what favors their team.

USC fans and the AP history know what titles they have...and they couldn't care less what some fan who hates USC thinks.

Yes it should. They got to keep the AP and NFF.

Edit: NFF, not the FWAA.

They only vacated their last 2 wins that season. You're thinking of 05.
