Slats doing work in NY.

James Sheppard for 4th round in '16.

Lee Stempniak for Carl Klingberg.

Yandle and Summers and a 4th round in'16 for John Moore, Anthony Duclair a 2nd and a 1st.

Way to much for Yandle, just think he is soft, he can move the puck well on the pp but not what I would want in the playoffs. D are a premium in the playoffs when injuries pile up though, like they are dealing but I was excited to see Duclair in NY.

I honestly like this team a lot. I think the defense and goalie are finally in place. Now about that offense...it's not good. If they get the top line winger I think that it will do wonders. I hope they go for it this year. Could you imagine Pavelski or Kessel? I sort of hope MaJo is on his way out. As I type this he scores.

I'd love to see a Boston-Habs first round matchup. Plenty of bad blood to boil over. Would make a great series.

I mean, Pavelski and Kessel are awesome, but I don't see how they fit under the cap. I mean, as much as people talk about it, 1st line scoring is hardly a problem for the Caps. Ovie and Backstrom are tied for the league lead in scoring. They don't need Kessel, they just need to settle on a wing not named Beagle to play with them.

Johansson is a passenger, sure. But he also only costs $2 million, which saves money to be spent elsewhere on the roster. Honestly, if I could ask for the Caps to make ANY move, it would be to move Brooks Laich and his $4.5 million cap hit (which goes on for another two years). He's a fourth liner, or a third liner at best. Move the contract. And with the savings, sign Green and your RFA's. Though you could probably do it in the offseason.

Lightning land Coburn, damn.

quote:

At the risk of damning him with faint praise, Coburn, 30, had been the Flyers' best defenseman in 2014-15. With him playing first-pairing minutes at 5-on-5, Philadelphia controlled 51.1 percent of all shot attempts, the best such mark among their defense.

With their shitty D I didn't have Tampa has legit Cup contenders, def are now.

Seguin? He's our best scorer, will stop short of calling him our best player. Yeah, he's out for another week or two. But it's not like the Stars were in the playoff hunt when he was healthy. They've been losing games the same way all season.

had enough of that in 02, 04, 07, 09, and that's just last decade of first rounders. We definitely own them in playoff history and it isn't even close but i don't even want those dirty goonins making the playoffs. F them.

What was it, until 09 the Habs had won 26 straight series against those asses.

They had them beat in the first round that year but a certain goalie got the well deserved hate earned. He blew a 3-0 lead losing games 4 and 6 at Centre Bell.

Habs acquire Jeff Petry from Edmonton in exchange for a 2nd round pick and a conditional 5th round pick.

I still think Beaulieu is the better option. JMHO

As I have said you can never have too many defensemen. I like it and it does not get rid of anyone substantial right now. I do wish Eller would be shipped for another winger. I wanted Glenncross or Heatley, but they are both gone.

I just do not know who is out there that can provide scoring immediately, especially on the god awful thing they call a Power Play.

If I was Therion, I may seriously ask to decline all penalties, it gives them no advantage.

I know Eller is having a bad year, but I am not about to get rid of him. We are short on centers as it is.

If we wouldn't have made that Sekac/Smith-Pelly deal, we probably could have gone after a center.

Can we get some center help for fricks sake?

Why do they need C help? They are good there. They need scoring and guys that can create havoc.

I think they are done now. I wanted Phanuef, but knew it would not happen.

I think they are going to do something crazy and try Parenteau out at C when he comes back.

You have Desharnais, Pleck, Manny, Gally there already. I mean its not like there aren't 52 RW on this club already.

I'm hearing there's one big move left to make...

And do you really want to go into the playoffs with Plekanec, Eller, Malhotra, and DD at center?

Chucky is done at center. I think he's a winger for the rest of his career.

We need a 2nd line center. I want Bozak

I think they are fine it is not C that scares me it is the lack of scoring from the wings other than Maxi and that god awful PP.

I just can not put my finger on it who it is they need though.

The PP was the primary reason I wanted Phanuef. Have him and Gonchar on the second unit and if you wanted to just have guys from the point blasting away you put him with Pernell and scare the bejesus out of defenders blocking slappers from those two.
