if coaches treated it as a game that matters I wouldn't have a problem, but pitchers going 1 inning, batters getting 2 AB, etc makes it worse. Give Trout and Harper 4 or 5 AB

im not trying to act like the players care. they really dont. but thats not the point. the point is that the game has a legit effect on how the season gets played out and its stupid. its not an exhibition game and it needs to be

back in the day Cincinnati voted their whole team to be the all stars.
half of them were HOFers, so it was a solid squad. after that, the fans lost the vote for quite a while.

This is the world we live in. Corruption has invaded nearly every facet of American life.

Remember back when people was actually excited about watching the all-star game because it was filled with stars. Who the hell is excited about watching Mookie Betts and Dexter Fowler and Jackie Bradley Jr. and Eric Hosmer and Addison Russell start in the all-star game? No wonder why there's no buzz in the sport anymore.

I'm all for fan vote, but fan vote shouldn't mean they are the starter, nor should it be for every position. I like how MLB is trying to get fans more involved, but this is not the way to do that imo

The old system sucked too as home field advantage switched between the leagues every year.

I will never understand why the team with the better record doesnt get home field in the world series. Makes zero sense.

If you watched the Cubs all year you would be very excited about watching Dexter Fowler. I don't think it's a coincidence that they've struggled since he's been on the DL.

I can kind of understand it back before interleague play as records in the NL didn't always translate to potential record in the AL. How about using combined record of interleague games?

It's an absolute joke that Addison Russell is on the All-Star Team ahead of Aledmys Diaz.

I thought Trevor Story should have got the nod. The rest of the Cubs were actually solid selections.

Seriously? Is Russell the worst ASG starter in any sport ever (barring an old guy who is benefitting from a great career)? He's hitting like .240 and his fielding percentage isn't even great. Like there's no part of his game that should've even landed him on the roster

ALcides Escobar started last year for the AL.

this shite happens nearly every year

I cant think of a more fun player to watch than Mookie Betts.

Hes on pace for

139 runs
35 HR
111 RBI
25 SBs

terrible hot take.
