Was Fulmer fired at Tennessee? If so, that's got to be up there.

If Tennessee would have been so much better off with Fulmer, why hasn't he been able to get any of the other jobs he has begged for since his well deserved, overdue termination?

Cause he's fat and old.

They definitely should've gotten rid of him, but their next two hires were atrocious.

With Fulmer, Tennessee was at least a threat to make the SECCG. They haven't been close since he left.

ETA: I think Tennessee is in the same boat as Nebraska now. Just need to accept that their days of contending for national titles is gone. They make sneak into a CCG every once in awhile, but past advantages are gone.

Hell, they're not going to bowl games now.

If Fulmer was still the coach, they'd still be in the running for Chicken Bowls and Outback Bowls every year.

They sure as shite wouldn't haven't fallen to Vanderbilt/Kentucky level.

Yeah, because they hired two coaches with lousy resumes. They were terrible hires then, and they're terrible hires in hindsight.

Leavitt was a complete maniac and deserved what he got.

Mangino was scum he never should have gotten jobs he did. He got credit for what Long, Lattimore, Miller, and others did as an assistant.

As far as Leach they had just cause on three things to fire him.

The worst firing in my opinion was the O''Brien firing at NC State

Who gives a shite? If that's Tennessee's goal, they shouldn't be spending so much money on the program.

Which makes that firing even worse. It's one thing if they fired him had a bad coach for 2-3 years and then replaced him with a legit coach, but they are on their 3rd coach in 5 years and none of them have done much of anything.

By your ridiculous logic, Mike Dubose should still be tearing it up at Alabama.

And the funny thing is the mantra of mediocre is back. The Braska fans have already forgotten the damage done by firing a 9-3 coach.

Well to be fair, Solich and Pelini are nothing alike. Solich came up through that program, loved the fans, and they loved him. Pelini was just the a-hole they brought in because Callahan was such a frickup.

Yes we were clearly headed in the right direction. I will not argue it with you since you don't seem to understand the direction the program was headed. Fulmer pretty much quit on UT after Spurrier left thinking the SEC would be handed to him on a platter. He lived off of recruiting and that had gone into the toilet, and we was spending too much time trying to get Bama in trouble instead of focusing on the program.
