The guy is damn near psychotic from most accounts. If I were Martin, I'd legitimately fear for my family, too, if he were threatening them.

Incognito looks like he took a like joke wayy to far.

I don't think he went too far with jokes, because I don't think those were jokes. I think it was some sort of misguided motivational tactic that he took too far. Which is why he still doesn't think he did anything wrong.

Maybe it would still be news, but you can't deny that it takes things to another level besides the whole threats ordeal

And how do you know he didn't try various avenues before quitting?

What do you want him to do? Kick the POS' arse and get arrested then sued for even more money?

No employee should ever have to tolerate that type of harassment or ever feel that the only thing left to do to "handle" something like this is resort to violence.

The racial part just adds gas to the flame. I'm not defending ingognito, he's punk trash. But why couldn't this guy have dealt with it without quitting? Like nobody on a team has ever been threatened before and dealt with it. Obviously Richie was bluffing like the bitch he is.

How do you know he hadn't tried to do things about it?

This shite had being going on for over +/- 18 months.

And I have a feeling Incognito is just the ringleader of a group of players hazing Martin beyond just his first season.

Not only fear for his family, but who wants to work with someone like that? Anyone crosses the line like that with me, forget it, I'm done. But of course, I'd be the pussy and I should just take a knife to the guy harassing me.

You're going to have trouble making people see this in a case where those involved get paid largely based on their tendency towards violence.

ETA: Also, is there any doubt that Martin would have gotten his arse whipped by Incognito if he had stood up to him?

Considering that Incognito is one of the dirtiest players in the game and seems to be a few cans short of a six-pack? HELL YES I think he's capable of it.

He's had serious anger and attitude issues for years. I wouldn't want to be there when he tried to do something and it "accidentally" went too far.

It's absolutely more than incognito, other players, coaches or both had to know about this.

And how do you know how long he tried to avoid it..really? Do you know every detail?

I'm simply saying the guy could have dealt with it, being a grown man and all...college? Like some bob knight shite? Yeah I could see it then. But not the NFL

I actually think racism is not the major issue here.

To me, the major issue is how the Dolphins let it go on for so long. These things don't happen in a vacuum.
