It was essentially a bush league quick pitch that led to a bush league bat flip. Joey Bats was simply sticking up for his teamate by making a show of his homerun imo, regardless of what it looks like own it's own. It was all about the context.

It's not bushleague. Motte has been doing this all season when there are no runners on base. I can tell that Pillar didn't do his homework on the Braves pitchers or he would've known that.

I HATE even mentioning the term Bush League, but the two on air MLB Tonight personalities who were dis using this whole situation live were both former big league hitters and said what the pitcher did was completely in the rules but every single major league hitter would tell you it's bush league if you asked them.

It's douchey and I don't like a batter showing up a pitcher, but I came to terms w/ Jose's against Texas. Big moment, do what you want, but I also have no problem w/ a team taking exception. Been going on for forever.
