Seems like an obvious yes, but he seems to thrive on system guys and continuity. Code name "white guys"

I mean yeah he is the winningest coach in history but he only has 4 titles over 30+ years, hasn't made Final 4 since 2010 and has been bounced by a 14 and 15 seed in the past 3 years. Only one title in the last 15 seasons. One Final Four the past 10 seasons. You think at 4 million there would be more titles and Final Fours recently

2 championships in the last 15 years with 4 Final Fours since 1999. Not to mention the 2 Olympic Championships, which bring positive exposure to him and the university.

Do you honestly believe anything that you post?

Like going the the 2-3 zone.

Boeheim was giving him some tongue in cheek shite for "taking" his zone defense. He said he would never take Coach K's man to man.

It does seem that he has better success when he has more upperclassman (e.g., 2010); however, that 1999 team that lost to UConn and the 2001 team that won the championship was primarily comprised of freshman and sophomores with one or two seniors (Trajan Langdon, Shane Battier). The 2004 team that lost in the final four was the same way. So between those teams and his success with NBA players in international competition—better talent but less time together like some international teams—I think he would be extremely successful with Kentucky type talent (competing for championships annually).

Coach K has elevated Duke to national relevance athletically and for many made Duke hating a national pastime.

Perhaps you can make an argument that no coach is worth that much money, but if any coach is it is him. And he has done it clean. He endears nothing but respect from his players and fellow coaches--along with his success. Any university would kill for this.

I gotcha. You definitely have the stereotype of duke correct. Coach k has really turned it on recruiting wise the last few years, 3 of their freshman were projected lottery picks and okafor was the #1 recruit.

I mean he's not completely wrong, although he's discounting the championship factor; however, the money making factor (which is obviously maximized by championships) is a huge component, irrespective of championships. Only one team can win, and only a handful of teams have a legitimate shot at a championship in any given sport, yet contracts are renewed or increased without championships so other factors have to be important.
