I have read a few posters on here from time to time mention great memories of being with their dads at a big game like a super bowl or world series or historic Tiger football win.

I've always been big into traditional teams sports since I was a kid, but I take after my mom. My Dad couldn't give two craps about sports. He's always been that way. He is big into fishing and hunting and that kind of stuff, but just doesn't care about sports. Sometimes I wish we could have had that relationship to both enjoy big games together and what not, but sadly it just ain't in the cards.

Absolutely. My Dad and I, no matter what else was going on in our relationship, could always talk baseball. A couple weeks before my wedding, we spent a week in Arizona taking in Cactus League games. One of best weeks of my life.

I bet that was cool. I think the only players my dad could name would be Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris

Yes, my dad was the one who took me to my first sporting event and always loved talking/watching sports with me, even as a kid.

My dad is a michigan grad, but I remember getting a call from him after the MSU win over OSU a few weeks ago and him being so happy. It was probably one of the better calls I've gotten

I'm more like you. Me and my dad used to bond over fishing. Not much anymore though. The only reason my dad gives any shits about sports is because of me. I loved sports since I was young. My dad is more like that guy that comes to your house party that doesn't watch sports much and makes the most random comments about the game...and has the most random questions you could think of.

I bond with my future FIL over sports though.

don't get me wrong. I love my dad. when I was a kid he came to most of my games when he didn't have to work. He also took me to Astros games in Houston (we lived in La) a few times and that was fun, but he just isn't into sports at all.

My dad and I took road trips to the Astrodome every year in my teen years. He died when I turned 18. That was the special experience with him that I never forget.

I hear you. my dad isn't like that. if he comes to your house and you are watching the game he doesn't even pay attention to it. he will find some broken appliance to fix or examine your landscaping outside or something. lol. he only likes Westerns, crime movies and In the Heat of the Night

Yes. Me and my Dad can always talk LSU football, although he is a massive negatiger

Some of my fondest memories are from the times he would let me drive around the back roads when I was little while listening to LSU football on the radio. We didn't get most of the games on TV, and my Mom didn't like him to yell, so he would let me drive him around while we listened to the game. Good times.

Same here...I guess I do owe him something for sports being as huge to me as they are. He did take me to Astros and Rangers games. He introduced it to me, then I just took it from there.

I talk to my dad about Auburn football and Braves baseball occasionally, but that's about it.

My mom is actually the one I attend all my sporting events with and I'm trying to make plans to go to an Auburn game next year with her because it's been 20+ years since she's been to a game in Auburn. She took me to the Peach bowl, to Braves playoff games, Atlanta Knights/Thrashers games, Hawks games, Olympics...just about any sporting event we could do. That said, I'm sure my dad would have loved to do those things with me but he did live in a different state which makes it kind of tough.
