You must not have watched a lot of basketball then. Penny was a beast in his prime, but lets pump the brakes.

Not necessarily.

When I tore my ACL/Meniscus in HS, they stitched my Meniscus to repair instead of just cleaning it up.

No weight bearing and I couldn't bend my knee past 90 degrees for 4 weeks.

2nd time I tore my ACL/Meniscus they didn't repair the meniscus, just cleaned it up and I was walking the day after surgery.

A full repair obviously takes longer than a scope where he'd only be out a month give or take. He will have a period of non weight bearing and likely have a limitation in his range of motion per his doctors protocol. I was surprised because it seems so early in year. I guess things could change but we have more than 6 months left in year. To already rule him out means the tear is bad.

lol I grew up with a father and 2 older brothers who played college ball. I did as well. I've watched a LOT of basketball.

I may have exaggerated, but there were plenty of games early on where he was unstoppable. Some know on here I'm a huge Kobe fan too. Maybe I should edit to say *could have been* the best player I'd seen outide of MJ.

I've never seen a torn meniscus being a season ending type of injury.

Maybe I'm missing something.

I could see the PR move being to go ahead and rule him out, and bring him back if he's capable. As opposed to the opposite, where he could/would get more backlash.

I was responding to someone who referred to a pro athlete as a pussy. Come on now.

I have said this for years. Michael,Elgin Baylor,Lebron, and Penny are the most talented basketball players I have ever seen.

After you finish the highlights, go find the commercials with the little doll. I used to love that dude as a kid. Now I want to play NBA Jam

Tore my meniscus in high school and tried to come back for basketball season. They repaired mine and it took like 6-8 weeks worth of pt to kind of feel comfortable to play on it. About my third time out playing I tore it again and they just took it out. That rehab took like 4 or 5 weeks and I felt comfortable on it by like 8 weeks. So that was my experience. Personally I would have thought he could have come back later this season, but hey it's his career and I don't blame him for taking it slow.

Rose is done as a star in this league.

Sad, but it is what it is.

His body has betrayed him.

Torn ACLs happen, but this injury on top the the ACL makes me think the explosive nature of his game just finally took its toll on his body.

I hope he can bounce back, but this is a huge, huge setback.
