did it in NY. If it was Kansas City, I doubt he even makes the Hall.

That's funny. All players to reach 3,000 hits that have retired with the exception of Palmeiro (steroids) ARod (steroids and not on ballot yet) and Rose (ineligible but worthy) are hall of famers. Yet you think Jeter's 3,400 and all other stats wouldn't be enough had he played elsewhere?

I mean he's pretty overrated

He should be considered a borderline HOF who leans towards making it, not an unquestioned first balloter

But would he have had as many hits in KC... Jeter was usually surrounded by a lot better players than there were in KC....
Oh come on. It's not like he's sitting right at 3,000

3,465 hits

The Jeter overrated crap has jumped the shark

Yes he is overrated, but he hs 3,465 ducking hits you dumbasses. That is 6th ALL TIME. That guaranteed first ballot status no matter where you played

NY had better teams than KC had. He'd be borderline 3000 if not for 15 years of lineup protection.

and I don't think many people here are talking about him not being a HOFr. I do think hes closer to the border but he's in and basically everything we have to measure HOF worthiness says he's in

It's just hard not to roll the eyes a little bit when people want to talk about him belonging in the inner circle of baseball history

Figures this would come from a Cubs fan. Jeter is not overrated. His numbers are HOF quality. He is also a good guy.

If you want overrated, go with Chipper Jones, the fave in every rundown squalid trailer park full of three yeller teefed Braves fans.

He's ridiculously overrated/over publicized based on where he played, not on baseball merit.

He's closer to Biggio than he is a sure fire first ballot Hall of Famer

Chipper will go down as one of the best switch hitters of all time. If anything if Chipper stayed healthy later in his career he would've gone down as an all time great.

Chipper is very popular with the trailer trash and uneducated rabble around here. He was one of the biggest douchebags in MLB.

My greatest joy as a Yankees fan was when they kicked the Braves butt.

Says a fan of a scrub team that finally bumbled into a world series win that they didn't choke away.

Doesn't he have the 6th most hits all time not to mention all the game winning and game saving plays in the post season?

Chipper was a lot better of a player than Jeter. Every team has trashy fans and the Yankees have plenty of trash fans. Chipper is a douche but Jeter giving gift baskets is ok.

If he went out with fat broads and acted like he belonged in a trailer park rec room, they would be fawning all over him.

Jeter is going to be a first ballot HOF and will probably get the highest vote total ever. That is hilarious

Td jeter threads are the best, always make me laugh.

Fun fact: Only player in mlb history to play 20 plus year and never be on a losing team.
