Either would be a massive upgrade on Dusty I’m sure. This isn’t football, just need someone who isn’t a spiteful combative fricktard and the players can tolerate

No one on Seattle will get hit tonight unless Framber gives up a HR and then plunks someone in a snit. Preemptively hitting a Mariner as retribution for the last two nights would require the Astros to show some fight, and there hasn’t been much of that recently.

There should be a brawl where someone makes a beeline for Scott Servais and creates a come to Jesus encounter for him. But this team doesn’t have the guts for that.

And, yes, fully expect the Rangers to lay down like dogs once they’ve clinched.

He’s all talk. If he was truly tired of it, he would have taken care of it last year when the Astros cruised to the division win. He should have told every pitcher: if you don’t hit a batter in your first 12 pitches, you’re done.

Every opposing team knows, “they won’t retaliate “. “Dusty won’t do shite.”

Correct. A merely below-average manager who didn’t do stupid shite like bat Abreu fourth and fifth regularly, keep Yainer Diaz on the bench most of the season and put in Jonathan Singleton in a key RISP situation more than once would have this team using this week to line up its postseason pitching rotation.

There's talk that the Chas plunking was payback for the Bush league glove swat earlier in the season. Maybe. Idk. But the Mariners are a desperate for wins as we are and they already had a runner on with nobody out. 4 runs wasn't an insurmountable lead. It would be really stupid to be putting runners on base like that. But I wouldn't put it past Servais

Of course there's that fear, but followed from afar through the rebuild

Matter of fact, read but didn't participate in the DAT until they became competitive again

The way Kalas and Blum indirectly hammer Baker with no recourse, I have gained confidence that this is it for him

And another factor that plays heavily IMO is that a defending WS champion that draws the second largest attendance in the league is not going to go forward without addressing it.

Crane ain't going nowhere. Dana came on late with very little input. It's time to thank Baker.

Servais is a twat, and regardless of intent, it’s time for the Astros to grow a couple and retaliate if the opportunity presents.

Maybe hire Ron Washington if Brown wants a Braves connection? He's like Dusty with a clue and a fully functional brain.

To be fair, Baker's age was never the problem. He's been a stubborn, egotistical moron for decades.

Washington brings some bravado but he also focuses on his players doing the little things right, the total opposite of the 2023 Astros.

Of course, the list of "better than Baker" is quite long.

I'm 95% sure that Peej would be better than Baker.

If we were ever going to brawl, today would be the day. With today being a get out of town day and tomorrow an off day, I'd expect our best players to get a well some well deserved rest.

It says something that Wash Dog is a geriatric lifelong crack addict and seems 10x more competent than Dusty
