Our starting pitching has been incredible lately. And in case anyone misse it Carter hit the ball hard last night. I still don't forgive him.

No. He laced one hard right at the third baseman on the first pitch.

I don't think anyone struck out against Ryan. Carter hit a line shot off him to third. He hit I believe two line drives to third. Both really well hit. It was nice to see him making solid contact. If he is going to be on the roster it would be nice if he sucked less.

He walked twice and scored 2 runs I believe plus smashed to line drives.

Am I the only one that's beginning to dislike Gomez? I can see why the dude is probably hated by half the league. His antics and attitude sucks.

Personally, I don't like all the antics. I think we pretty much knew what we were getting when we traded for him, though.

We actually agree. I really don't care for it and it hurts the reputation of the team more than it helps. SPRINGER brings just as much energy and enthusiasm to every game and plays hard without acting a complete arse.

I don't like the excuse of "hey if they misinterpret how I play the game it's their fault."

He is going to get one of his teammates hurt with that shite. I find him hard to rot for.

He reminded me a little (very little) of Odor last night. I freaking hate Odor. Then I watched him playing with that 6 yr old boy (no homo, no pedo) before the game and I like him again.

We have plenty of Fire...what gomez brings is stupidity and very low batting average and a lot of ks.

Gomez makes odor look like Craig biggio.

Honestly when I hear gomez talk he seems very likeable and humble but his antics on the field are just unnecessary 9 out 10 times.

Let's be honest......he caught this from our team after he got here.

This sums it up perfectly

quote:

@BattingStanceG: Weirdest national obsession: opponents getting mad at Carlos Gomez getting mad at himself.

quote:

@pgammo: The Carlos Gomez lecture recalls a great Roger Angell:"in September and October the team having the most fun usually wins"

Gomez plays with energy. He didn't taunt anybody. He wants to go up and succeed at every plate appearance. He doesn't give a shite if it's 9-0. He's upset with himself when he screws up. This new unwritten rule about being mad at yourself is ridiculous.

The Yankees deserved every bit of taunting they got when he hit that three run bomb. The benches cleared because Gomez yelled at HIMSELF. Reading that again, it is absolutely as ridiculous as it sounds.

Gomez will continue to bring energy to the clubhouse and I think it is only going to fuel the team. He heats up and Club Astros is going to be rocking.

I agree about Gomez. Swagger is one thing but he comes across like a punk most of the time.

Yes, in the case last night, Gomez was mad at himself. It was an overreaction on the Yanks' part. But that's what you get when he does what he does so often.....

Nobody is accusing him of taunting anyone baw. That isn't the point.

Then what's the point? Me personally, I like a guy who wants to succeed to badly he is cussing himself out when he fails.

That's his antics and I am okay with them. Any incident you see with Carlos Gomez ALWAYS revolves around opponents getting mad about him being frustrated with a pop out.

Completely agree. I can see why other teams don't like him, but our own fans getting mad at him for telling the Yankee dugout to shutup is ridiculous. Somebody was pissed they were getting their arse kicked so they said something, Cargo simply told them to shutup and they got their feelings hurt more. Screw the yankees.

He needs to produce more, but I will support him as long as his antics dont hurt the team. Hopefully last night was an indicator of what's to come.
