I realize he hasn't looked as good as he did last year, but for you to say he hasn't looked good at all this year is just ignorant.

When he's bad, he's pretty bad. But he's had some really good games.

He's 12-5 because he's been able to limit damage when he doesn't have his best stuff and still make it into the 5th and 6th. He has had very few blowup starts where he doesn't make out of the third or fourth. Regardless he's benefitted a great deal from run support this year

Not directed at you Shane.

He's lasted less than 6 innings in 5 of his 21 starts this year. Also, he's given up more than 4 runs just 3 times. That's pretty damn good for a #4 starter, which if you remember that's where he was when he started the year.

He is perfect as a number four. Keuchel Kazmir/Free Agent or whoever then McCullers in front of him. If he is throwing in a playoff game you know you should have a chance. Getting a solid #4 for absolutely nothing off the waiver wire was a huge move for the front office

Yeah I agree but I felt like im a little higher on McHugh then most on here.

McHugh as a 4th starter is better than what any other AL team is gonna throw at us at 4.

Exactly. I think he could still get better and level out between last year and this year. Ain't nothing wrong with that. I'm a huge McHugh fan.

McHugh is this year's Brandon Backe. He battles in every start. Is a solid #4 guy.

But wait till he gets a start in the playoffs.... I bet he'll be a bulldog just like Backe was.

Let's just hope his career doesn't flame out like Backe.

Hell if I know... That was List Eaters prediction (ETA: I think)... Not mine.

I'm still hanging on to the Samardzija & Robetson trade.

All he has to do is stay away from the cops

And screw Robertson. Didn't want to sign with us this offseason even though we offered more? He can go fly his kite in the Windy City.

You know what McHugh's ERA is this year? 4.43

You know what Keuchel's ERA is this year? 2.32

I can't believe you just compared these two. Win/Loss record is not good way to judge how well someone is pitching.

Who said that was the only way I was judging his performance? I clearly said he hasn't been great.

Well in his defense Keuchel is our undisputed Ace and McHugh is our #4 starter, while we all know Wins is a pretty insignificant statistic, I think his point is our number four starter is good enough to have a 12-5 record.

missed it. I'll catch the podcast.

Vernon, go to 8th Wonder and park, walk or it's a minimum $5 Uber ride. That's what I've been doing lately.

Going tomorrow for Kazmir's first start.

@jaysonst
Hearing from teams in the Cole Hamels hunt that if he gets traded, it likely won't happen until at least Thursday. Possibly deadline day
