Why do you underrate Santana? We are lower on him than the rest of baseball actually. He needs MLB time that a contender cannot give.

Santana is mashing in the minors at the moment. Think he will develop well.

Agree with this. Santan Springer and Phillips could be a great outfield for years, but there aren't any ABs for Santana right now

I didn't mean to pick on him specifically here but he's ridiculously raw at the plate. He could obviously develop though

Yeah, that's why the time is now to trade him and Singleton. Both could be nice MLB players but we have better options for our needs coming.

Definitely. And maybe by taking on all of Kimbrel's deal they could get it done with Santana plus something else that isn't essential. I have no idea what the Padres farm system looks like since they dealt like 13 of their top 15 prospects this offseason

I would give up apple in a heart beat for Ross and kimbrel...then a couple of depth guys that we don't have room for.
We know what Ross is and he can still keep getting better...apple is suspect.
