Lance has been over 80 pitches exactly once since July (83 pitches). He's been battling arm fatigue and was going through a very good lineup for the third time. He's not Verlander. Our bullpen was well rested and should have been ready to go, it was a proactive move that's become the norm in postseason baseball.

It was the right move. It didn't work out. At some point the players have to make plays

Altuve not applying the tag properly really hurt.

That whole sequence hurt... no excuse not to get Headley out once he fell between first and second. Correa sort of lobbed the throw to first sooner than he had to and then Altuve didn't set properly and get a tag down.

They never should have thrown behind Headley when he fell down. That was one of many mistakes made though.

Short ESPN Survey

Go through here and see what visitors to that site think is going to happen. Hint: you won't be surprised.

I was at the Astros' first World Series game at Minute Maid in '05 and I've already made plans to be there next weekend.

Need that BIG win today.

GEAUX Astros!

Tonight is a must win for Houston. Will their youthfulness help them or hurt them tonight?

Did you hear Hinch's presser before the game? He did the complete opposite with Lance. AJ failed.

Correa caught Headley in the middle. He hadn't really committed to going back to first at that point before Correa fire balled it over there. He's hung up in the middle when Correa throws to first so he turns back to go to 2nd where Altuve gave him the whole damn bag to slide into.

Correa should have waited a second on the throw and make Headley commit to a direction but the real killer was Altuve standing behind the bag at 2nd and giving Headley all that space to slide into.

It's not a must win, only because they are going home for 6 (and 7). The youth can be a problem, but it can be a positive too. They are usually more resilient than the older player, but the older players (Mccann, Beltran, Reddick) need to calm the nerves of the younger guys. As someone in the postgame said, someone needs to make a play.

Putting up a crooked number early will calm everyone down quite a bit think. If the game presses on 0-0 or 1-0 into the 5th and 6th like yesterday I'm not sure how they will respond

You sure? Didi is bound to boot one of those routine grounders eventually.
