Very disturbing quote from Giles in an article I read this morning. It makes me question (even more) if he has the makeup to be a closer.

quote:

"It may look like it was unraveling real quick," closer Ken Giles said. "But in my eyes, they were just slowly bringing us to the ground."

It's still 2-2 and we got Acechel and Verlander the next two games. If the bats can turn it around, we got this.

To me it meant that he, the main player that could make it happen, felt powerless to stop the Yankees rally.

I would like to see Peacock be a primary option in relief here the rest of the series. Perhaps McHugh as well.

I really have no idea why he wasn't in the game last night after Lance. He could have dealt the 7th and probably the 8th. Once they started getting momentum it just kept going; Peacock may have shut that door quick

Been saying it since the start of the playoffs. The yankees are the best team and don't have a weakness.

They have the deepest and best bullpen, maybe even in MLB history. They can go 6 deep out of the pen and they are all good to great.

Deep pitching staff with an ace in Severino.

Great lineup with power and speed.

Reminds me of this post from Jwho77 back in early June....I always get a laugh out if it....well until yesterday when it came to fruition

Just think how bad we've played through 4 and we are still tied at 2-2.... I like our odds

the biggest difference between these two teams are the bullpens

at the deadline lunhow stood pat while the Yankees went and acquired Kahnle, Robertson, and Frazier from the White Sox. Two of the best relievers in baseball and whats been a very valuable role player. Out of all the relievers that were traded at the deadline it's hard to believe all we did was acquire Liriano

Dallas bitched when we didnt do anything, and rightfully so.

No its his time to step up when his team needs him. IDC if he has to throw 150 pitches. we need this

Dallas -> Peacock

No in between.

No Giles.

No Harris.

No Gregerson.

No fricking Liriano.

Peacock has to be the first guy out of the bullpen I think, whenever that happens. Hopefully as late as possible

I worry about Giles. He hasn't had a clean appearance in the postseason, but in the other appearances he bounced right back and attacked after the Devers inside the park HR and the Bird HR. It didn't seem to phase him. He looked lost last night in the dugout after

The Yankees should be down 3-1 right now. Their starting pitching isn't that good. Severing is good and finished the season with basically an ERA of 3, I think it was 2.98, IIRC from the other night when I looked it up. All of their starting pitchers can be hit pretty good. Sure, their bullpen is deep and their lineup is nice, but their pen isn't some kind of unstoppable force like the Yankee loving media would want you to believe. Their fielding isn't that good and at times they can struggle.

To say they're the best team and don't have a weakness is either being very biased or just lying to yourself. The thing is, their hitting lineup can make up for a lot of mistakes in the field and runs given up and their bullpen can cover for their starting pitchers if they tend to mess up as well. Which is good for a team and that's what you want.

However, all that being said, you saying they're the best team with no weaknesses is completely false.
