It is a good thing that I only watch ESPN when the actual game is on.

And now that schilling is gone, it's even better when games are on.

Espn/abc don't give a frick about anything other than ratings, they know they have people by the balls because they have so many sports contracts that people will continue to watch no matter what, so if they spout off about their liberal agenda no repercussions come of it in terms of ratings although I think sportscenter viewership has declined but that may be largely due to stupid cable prices.

The thing is, they don't, more and more people are getting along just fine without cable, and ESPN is bleeding money because of it. They overpaid for those broadcasting rights thinking cable subscriptions would keep rising when the opposite is happening.

Bob Costas has gone on liberal tangents several times on air at NBC during the NFL pregame, and it was a-okay. I believe it was things like anti-gun rants and pro universal healthcare speeches.

NBC has known super liberal wing of there organization.

Say if brandshaw went on well thought out pro-gun or even pro bathroom regulation discussion. I doubt he would get much backlash

That's not what schilling did however. I bet schilling wouldn't catch heat if he didn't tweet/Facebook post stupid shite without thinking. If he wants to shite post do it anonymously like all of us.

Everyone schilling mention in his interview brings ratings. He doesn't. He is just another washed up athelete trying to cash a check.

It's not a double standard, he is just isn't worth enough to keep around.

But it is a double standard. This is not about them firing him, him sucking as an analyst, him being washed up, or him being an idiot. No one is saying they couldn't or shouldn't fire him. And no one is saying he isn't idiotic, washed up analyst.

The double standard is exactly what he is able to shed light on now that he is no longer employed at ESPN. I'm sure he has been holding this shite in for years but obviously couldn't make a stance or public statement while they were still cutting his checks.

Not only is Schilling correct, but this is the real reason why the phony, agenda-driven concept of political correctness was created.

Obama can say, "if they bring a knife to the fight, you bring a gun," and the media doesn't say a word.

Sarah Palin draws a bullseye on liberal politicians up for reelection, and she gets blamed when a nutjob shoots Gabby Giffords.

Schilling is 100% on the money here.

While he may be right, he had no problem continuing to collect a paycheck from them.

The best part is that @pftcommenter made this meme just in hopes that he could get Schilling to RT it

he should've taken a stand and quit to voice the injustice you victims of the liberal media are suffering.

Schilling is such a dumbass. Does he think he's the only conservative working at ESPN? He basically dared ESPN to fire him. Knowing him he probably needed the severance.

This, it's not like Tebow is hesitant to share his views , difference is Curt's an a-hole and basically everyone likes working with Tim.

this wasn't the first time he has done something like this. This didn't happen in the vacuum. ESPN was just done with his shite.

Again not double standard. He just is not worth keeping.

I think I would be completely shocked if someone like that started preaching about pro-conservative values. Imagine if he did that and the rest of the media agreed with him and wrote stories about how they agree with him on his pro 2nd amendment stance or pro-life stance.

Yes , imagine ESPN hiring a guy who made a Pro Life Super Bowl ad ; or perhaps the best known evangelical Christian athlete of all time.
