iverson being called a "leader" is such a 180 from his rep during his playing days

Iverson... he was a leader... Curry is a flaming count pussy

LOL.

Iverson was a leader as long as he was an offensive alpha dog that was given free reign. He went to Denver and couldn't co-exist optimally and then kinda got a bit divaish on the back end of his career after being traded to Detroit.

iverson wasn't the leader of that 76ers team

guys like tyrone hill and eric snow were true pros and led that team. getting mutumbo at the deadline was huge

even aaron mckie was a professional and positive locker room guy

the non-iverson guys just weren't good at scoring (which iverson was good at). they were good at everything else

I guess what I was really trying to say is Iverson was fine as long as he was allowed to be offensive alpha dog Iverson. Any less then that and you risk some notable problems.

Ok y'all win. Iverson sucked and didn't basically take philly to the finals on his own.

You mean he was able to take out the Darvin Ham-led Milwaukee Bucks in a playoff series? Wow. What an effort.

wot

since both are offensive-heavy guards, i figured 2 measures that lean towards offensive ratings would matter

if we're not relying on their actual production on the court to compare, what are we measuring, exactly?

I love these posts, as if playing high school basketball makes you any bit better at understand how the game is played at this level.

That you're even asking insinuates you have a sliver of doubt which is not good.

Iverson was by far my favorite player to watch during his prime. Dude was so tough, put his team on his back, and left it all on the floor every game (not practice).

With that said, Curry is better in just about every aspect of his game.

What does this mean?

Are you saying that only those that played the game can evaluate a player? If so, then we can exclude a number of coaches, GMs, and scouts who didn't play the game but their jobs relies on an accurate evaluation of players.

In addition, by that logic, the opinion of all the players who were piling on Cutler in the playoffs must have been accurate and we can forget that he had actually had a fairly significant injury.

Ooh, rustled.

Why are you asking the question in any form?

Not to knock Curry, but I feel like I can trust Iverson more to carry a team that isn't well established.

Now if you're the type of GM that absolutely has zero tolerance for attitudes over talent, then Curry is the obvious choice. If you have an already established playoff team, then Curry is the man.

The Warriors were a shite franchise when Curry was drafted.
