Agree. I turned it off and went to sleep at the end of the third.

Two teams from relatively small population areas. Like 0 drama between the two.

That doesn't make sense though. Usually dynastic teams drive ratings. See Jordan's Bulls, Kobe-Shaq Lakers, Lebron-Wade Heat and the Patriots with Belichick and Brady. You can even throw in baseball. Interest was at its highest when there are dominant teams like the Yankees and Braves in the '90s and Ramirez/Ortiz Red Sox teams in the 2000s.

OSU v Oregon is a sexier match-up than Bama v Clemson for sure

Since when did football games need to be "sexy"? Just another stupid sports expression concocted by the idiot talking heads.

and it was not an inter-sectional game like it was with Oregon and OSU. Despite being in different conferences, they schools are only a 5 hour drive away from each other.

If it were say, West Virginia and Penn State, I know I'd watch it but how big a draw would that be across the country?

Maybe, but west coast team v midwest giant probably has more national appeal than what we had yesterday.

I know I am 2 hours ahead of CST, but it was almost 1AM at the start of the 4th quarter when I had to cut it off and go to bed. Judging by the SEC Rand Scoreboard posts it was almost midnight CST when the game ended. That is just way too late IMO.

My take is that they have just strung everything out too long. They pump up the semifinals like its the biggest thing there is, then the Sugar and Rose, and THEN FINALLY here comes the championship game. Yesterday I found myself kinda meh about the game just because I feel like we've been playing bowl games for a month.

Also, the NFL playoffs have already started- I've kinda moved on from college for the season.

I'm pretty sure OSU/Miami was on a Friday night, which made a great game even better.

The semifinals need to happen on the first saturday after Christmas to "kick-off" the bowl season. The NFL can GTFO with their single saturday night game that weekend. Then play the finals 9 days after the semifinals to "close out" the bowl season. That would have been Dec. 26th and Jan 4th this past season. It would have been perfect. It creates momentum for all other bowl games and then carries that momentum into the final game.

Don't start the mother fricker at 8:30 at night on the east coast on a fricking weeknight. Put that shite on a Saturday or say 7 on a week night. I'd love to see the hour by hour breakdown. frick these four to four and a half hour games that run till midnight or 1am when half the fricking country has to be at work in the morning.
