Kyrie would roast Jae. I like Crowder but his loss is the easiest to swallow

I am just seeing this trade, need a minute to digest

Immediate response is "hell yeah"

Secondary response is "this is good right?"

Kyrie only does one thing really well. When Lebron left the floor, it's amazing how little Kyrie could do. It's so underrated how much space players get playing alongside Lebron. It's still a good deal for the Celtics but even better for Cleveland and LBJ.

It's amazing that Cleveland was able to keep a Finals shot alive along with helping the future. No way I thought they could.

Celts did a good job of getting something for two guys they weren't gonna pay after next season in Bradley and Thomas. They looking to lose both trades this year to easily win both from that point on.

Boston took a small step back this year but better set up for years 2-5 as long as they can retain Kyrie. They were about to be stuck in the same position they're in now. By the time Brown, Tatum, BKN pick were ready Horford and IT would be washed and GH on the decline.

Agreed on both accounts. I fully expect Jaylen Brown to be what Crowder was for them. He's got some work to do spotting up from the perimeter and he won't be the defender Crowder was this coming season, but his ceiling is infinitely higher.

Cleveland didn't get worse. They desperately needed someone like Crowder. They traded away a prolific scorer who doesn't do anything else for a guy who averaged 29 a game. Cleveland is a better team today.

Cleveland desperately needed a wing that could defend so Lebron didn't have to so much. As long as IT fits in and gives them 80% of the offense Kyrie did I think they'll come out ahead. Like this trade for both sides.

Yeah Clevland now has James, Smith, Crowder, and Thompson as legit defenders.

Will be interesting to see if "highest hoops IQ in the league" Lebron can figure out a way to hide IT on D.

Think people are also forgetting that IT is an UFA after this year while Kyrie has a very cost effective 3 year deal in place right now.

Eh. I don't know that IT4 or Kyrie would have been there after this next season any way, as Lebron is likely gone. So I'm not sure how much that matters.

Boom - IT can watch film of where Kyrie hid on D because he is awful there too.

IT is limited by size where kyrie isn't. They are both poor. But kyrie can be a good defender. Thomas cannot.

So does CLE use the Nets pick to dangle on its own or with Love or whoever to get better for this season?

Or does Dan Gilbert stash it as a backup plan to jumpstart the rebuild if/when Lebron leaves?

It sounds crazy as CLE is the 2nd best team in the league but they're so far away from GS, and with Lebron seemingly already with 1 foot out the door, I'm holding onto that pick if I'm Gilbert.

I have never been a big on Thomas either; however, I think the overall trade will make Cleveland better.
