But let's just say that Davies isn't back in time for the World Cup, what change would you guys like to see?

I would like to see Dempsey moved up top, next to Jozy.

Howard
Cherundolo-Demerit-Onyewu-Bocanegra
Jermaine Jones-Bradley-Feilhaber
Donovan (free role behind the forwards)
Dempsey-Jozy

This would basically mean that we don't really play with any true wings, but it should be given a shot in March or April, if Davies is not healthy.

LB and RB can be rotated between Cherundolo, Bocanegra, and Spector in whatever way. I don't have any strong preference, as long as Bornstein isn't hacking people right outside the penalty box and clearing the bowl into the chests of opposition strikers.

Substitute Holden for Feilhaber and I like that lineup. Also Casey if healthy should have a say in who starts at forward.

I might put Edgar Castillo in the left back slot, or at least give him a shot. I hate to say it, but if Gooch can't start getting in at Milan, I could see him sliding off. He's a little overrated. DeMerit and Cherundolo and Demerit in the middle are just as good IMHO. Gooch is great in the air but sloppy on the ball, and one of his giveaways cost us a goal v. Honduras. I really want to see Spector get time too, but he has the same problem at West Ham. He's our best crosser not named Donovan.

I'm thinking Jones/Torres, Bradley, Feilheiber/Holden in the middle, and Donovan as a CAM type.

Dempsey and Jozy up top is pretty solid.

Dempsey does play well for the MNT when he's move up top. Seems to enjoy it, and Roy Hodgson will never put him there, and really doesn't need to.

I would put him up top at fulham...Johnson can be the workhorse and get zamora out of there. Duff should be on the left anyway

At this point, with the supporters frustrated with Bobby Zamora's lack of scoring touch....I don't know as it would upset too many.

They could go with a 4-5-1 and make Jozy the lone striker with Donovan, Holden, Bradley, Jones and Dempsey as the mids. I'm still not sure if we'll ever see Jones with the Yanks. Now it looks like the Germans aren't wanting to part ways with him to soon. GERMANS

I'd go for that...Holden or torres...depending on attack (offensive v. defensive)
