Unless you're Duke then they can use the tournaments to boost your seeding about 3 spots. Ppl say college football is biased towards Bama but it doesn't hold a candle to the pampering Duke gets. They're a 2 in the North Carolina region, easiest by far btw, meanwhile UK and all the stud teams in their bracket have to go through each other. If Duke had UKs resume they'd be the overall number 1 seed. They were the fricking 5th seed in the ACC now they're a national 2 lmfao why isn't Wisconsin a 2 they're records are almost identical but Wisconsin is an 8 lmfao.

They had a very legitimate argument for getting in over Wake. If you don't like mediocre P5 teams getting in I'm sorry. But it isn't going to change

I have zero problems with mediocre P5 teams getting in. But that's not the current criteria. I think it's a joke that P5 teams are out if they aren't 9-11 seeds.

Has a P5 team ever been a 16 seed?

If the committee was really about best teams they shouldn't put a ceiling on P5 teams getting in.

But they are not...

It's this mish-mash selection process between conference champs and RPI. It's so inconsistent and leads to massive bias and subjectivity when including final P5 teams that are held to a different standard.

My point was based on the format and history... Small school conference champs are going to eat up 11-16 seeds and therefore Cuse had basically 9-11 to get in.

Are they a 9-11 worthy team,?

No way.

Would they be an easily worthy #16 team...Of course. They could be a #13.

But the committee seeds by different rules...The mandate is conference champs and then basically eye test.

It sounds like you have an issue with the NCAA Tournament, not Jay Bilas

No, it's still the same argument because Bilas knows the rules more than anyone.

Cuse was going to miss out on 9-11.

Could they have made a play-in game?
Sure.

There were P5 conference teams that were either projected as a 9 seed or not making the tournament beyond Syracuse. My point with Bilas is they accept and shill and know the flawed system and then claim outrage.

Under the system, there was a very rational reason Cuse got excluded.

So I say, Bilas should blame auto-bids if he wants to complain about Cuse.

Is anyone else noticing the correlation between deranged Duke hatred and a tenuous grasp of English?

Who cares where you get put at in the tournament, there are only a hand full of teams who have the depth and talent to make it to the championship. The rest of it doesnt matter.

I dont think a team should be judged on how far they make it through the tourney it should be judged on the regular season.

Witchita state had a perfect season a few years ago. I think thats something to be proud of. Most teams good teams dont win the final game.

Good on Cal.

BXII tourney is Exhibit A:

KU lost 1st round and kept a one seed. WVU beat ISU twice, Kansas, Baylor and seven other tourney teams in the regular season and got a four seed.

Huggins should've just of played his bench.

Why, in your own words, do you give a shite what seed a team is?

That's less than 1/30 of their season. It all counts.

I just want to jump in this thread and say I'm so sick of Bilas whining about how tough college atheletes have it and how they should be paid.

Thanks.

I used to hate Calipari. In recent years I've grown to love him. Even listen to his podcast. I hate his team's though. Going all the way back to the UMASS days.

Didn't we have this same thread last year? Cal plays the victim by railing against an imperfect system. And mouth breather Kentucky fans all of a sudden think their team should be better than a 2 seed.

I'd say they get pretty favorable treatment. Of course, I'm sitting here looking at a Badger team that was second in conference in the regular season, runner up in the conf tourney, and got seeded as the sixth best team of B1G teams. Below teams with worse records, below us in the standings, that we beat.

Just an abortion. Yahoo Sports killed them for it.
LINK

All they care about is who's in and the 1 and 2 seeds, then just throw everything in a pile.
