Detroit is not LIGHT YEARS ahead of ANY city!! It is THE SHITHOLE of these United States!!!!

While I'm not offended as I'm not originally from Detroit (nor do I still reside there), but I don't consider it "THE SHITHOLE". It's more along the lines of "one of many shitholes". Thing is, even in these troubling times, it supports 4 professional franchises (and is only 1 of 3 cities that not only has NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA, but all are housed in separate facilities).

You'd think in a city with a troubled economy, this would be stupid. I guess Auburn Hills is a separate jurisdiction though, which is nice for the Pistons. What is the Silverdome doing these days? I mean, I know the Lions wanted to move downtown. But are you gonna tell me the Silverdome is shittier than what the Superdome was before renovation? The RCA Dome? geez...do something with it, or don't build it out there to begin with.

Reminds me of Richfield Coliseum. The Cleveland Cavs played there. It was in the middle of nowhere. This new arena lasted a handful of years and was dumped...not because it couldn't support NBA, but because they built it too far for fans to travel to games.

And what's up with Miami building and tearing down arenas? Wasn't Miami Arena a dozen years old or so when they demolished it for Amer. Airlines Arena?

Can't imagine any professional athletes living in Tuscaloosa (unless they call it home during the offseason).
I can't believe no one got the joke.

The Silverdome wasn't a bad facility and Pontiac wasn't in the middle of nowhere. The city of Pontiac (which owns the Silverdome) refused to make concessions with the Lions when in came to money (concession stand, parking, etc.) so the Lions built their own facility downtown.

Now the Silverdome hosts mostly Monster Truck Rally's.

your video isn't loading.

As bad off as Cleveland is, I see it sorta the same way I see Pittsburgh. I think the worst is done. The population is still declining, but mostly staying within the metro area anyway...same with Buffalo. Look at the metropolitan areas, and they don't move much. Granted, cities in the West are growing rapidly, but still...

With Detroit, the auto industry can create a huge downfall for that city. Detroit is like a modern day Rome with it's ruins and whatnot. Cleveland I think is stabalizing.

I'd like being an athlete in Buffalo, just because their fanbase(s) are outstanding.

I would have to go with Oklahoma City.

There is absolutely nothing to do in OKC. Nightlife and entertainment does not exist in this city. I just had three my friends leave OKC and they described it as the lamest place on earth. The winter's are much worst than one might think b/c of Oklahoma being so far south.

Salt Lake City is better than Cleveland and Cincinati, which are in turn better than Green Bay and Detroit. I've never been to Oklahoma City or Columbus, but I imagine they are both pretty bad.

Raleigh isn't bad at all though.

Beale Street alone puts this place above the others...and Green Bay.

I call bullshite. There's more to do in Cleveland than people think. Cincy doesn't seem any different than Pittsburgh, so throw that one in there. But SLC? really? No way it's better than Cleveland. How fun can a bunch of mormons really be?

Only half the population of SLC is Mormom so there are still people who go to clubs and bars. Unlike the Midwest, the Rocky Mountain region is not stagnating economically, and SLC seemed to be flourishing back in 2004. The scenery is beautiful, and it has one of the lowest crime rates in the country. Plus you have Park City just 30 minutes away.

I understand the economics of it all...but Denver, Vegas, Phoenix, even Tucson or Reno seem like places of interest...not SLC. Oh well...

We're talking nightlife though, not scenery. Looking at lighthouses over Lake Erie is beautiful too. It just depends on what type of beautiful you want. As for the crime rate. Meh...that just enhances the nightlife experience

Even though half of them were probably Mormon (and thus ineligible ), I thought there were a lot of attractive chicks in SLC. The night life is definitely a little more limited than other cities with a million people, but there are definitely night clubs and bars, and I am sure Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, and Andrei Kirilenko (remember his cool wife) can all find some broads pretty easily.

It's not like SLC is just one large religious commune with a bunch of women wearing ankle length skirts

I found SLC to be a pretty cool town. The downtown area isn't bad - it's where the (formerly known) Delta Center is located, the Capitol and the SL Temple - and right up hill is the University of Utah, which is nicer than I would have thought.

Plus skiing is nearby and some decent outdoor activities too.

And there is plenty of nightlife. It's like a college town (but bigger obviously), and it's not quite as conservative as you would think.

Never thought of it as a college town, but I guess that would help out...if it's in the downtown area that is.

AK47s wife is awesome for giving that man that freedom...
