should the pitcher have the right to intentially hit you with the baseball?

Yea i'm good with pitching inside (so long as you're not wildly ineffective at it) and players should understand that sometimes a pitch just gets away (maybe time to adopt the Mr. Baseball hat tip) but intentional beaning...frick those guys.

No one is complaining about a pitcher throwing inside.

But when a pitcher intentionally throws at your head because your HR trot was 2 seconds longer than he thought it should have been, that's cowardly, childish, and just plain dumb. Or even worse, throwing at the next batter's head because of what the previous batter did.

If you don't like it, meet him at homeplate and deal with it right away.

I personally think it is a crime. If I throw my paper weight at the intern for screwing something up, Im getting charged brother. I can'T say, "that is just part of being a CPA"

"Bautista is a f---ing disgrace to the game," Gossage told ESPN. "He's embarrassing to all the Latin players, whoever played before him. Throwing his bat and acting like a fool, like all those guys in Toronto. [Yoenis] Cespedes, same thing."

Guess this is the response to Harper

unrelated but got a kick out of this. Reminds me of a bit a comidien does that if you'd literally played with shite back in your day you'd go to your grave telling everyone how great playing with shite was.

Gossage, who is Yankees camp as a guest instructor, also went on rant against the "nerds" in the front offices who are ruining baseball. Pretty standard "the game was better back when I played!" stuff.

Latin dudes grow up playing the game differently. There's no reason they should have to change their ways when they come over to the MLB.

The old curmudgeons need to deal with it.

Goose Gossage missed part of the '79 season with a thumb injury sustained in a locker room fight with a teammate. He should probably step off the professionalism and class high horse.

No one bat flips on a bloop single. Cam dances for a first down.

Cam dances when HE RUNS for a 1st down which is not something a lot of QB's are able to do.

You guys act like he celebrates every single positive play of the game

How is that just about everyone in this thread agrees with Harper, but in any other thread, Harper seems to be overwhelmingly hated for showing said personality and flair?
I've defended Harper since day one, I love this kids attitude

And pouts like a bitch when things aren't going his way. Cam doesn't have the "you got me" attitude.

Don't forget to include the other end of his flair spectrum.

He's right. Baseball has too many stupid arse unwritten rules. You hit a home run, show some damn excitement. Strike a guy out, get pumped up. Sports should be fun

So many idiots think you deserve a 95 mph heater thrown at your face because you flipped your bat after a homerun, it's idiotic

You do because 95mph fastballs to the dome also make it more exciting. All players should pimp homers, then the next dude needs to wear one so the benches clear and they brawl and then go on with the game until it happens again. The ratings would go WAY up!
