Curtis should change their school colors to camouflage since they hid in 2A for so long and now can't dress 150 and curbstomp Ferriday and claim a national championship.

Owl, I went over to Lasportsline and read the thread.

Looks like Bonine may have got some bad advice from his lawyer or Bonine did not read the bylaw correctly nor did he do his homework completely.

According to some of the posters(I think it may have been you) over there, there is a big word in the bylaw that was ignored.

The bylaw(8.7.2) in question states:
quote:

divisions involving two or more classifications may be created by the Executive Committee to provide competition in certain sports,

(Yes, it was you, now I read it more.)

Notice the word 'may'. A good lawyer is going to see that and be on it like white-on-rice & Bonine is gonna fold like a cheap deck of cards.

Regardless, someone posted a link showing back in 2013 the LHSAA Executive committee did in fact vote for the playoff split back in 2013.

Looks like Bonine is gonna be eating a lot of crow in the coming weeks.

I see the word "may", but it doesn't give the power to create divisions to anyone else, only the exec committee since they're mentioned

Article from the Advocate this weekend.

Advocate Article about the split and last weeks's press conf.

Not much new info but they seem to be groping for a way to go from here.

Also, I'm not sure I'd buy used car from this guy:

prior to being forced down to 2a in 2004 they were in 3a and 4a for nearly 20 years....

it was 5a districts in NO scared of them in football only - that started the drive to push them and ECA down in 04 also... had some help from 2 or 3 key N La principals

bottom line it really doesn't matter because the many publics now want a full split in all sports and likely have the votes to do so.. so jan meeting could be most heated since intergration.

you don't think Curtis and Evangel moving up to 5A will help matters any?

nope.... especially with them not winning titles...

the mantra now is "SEE THEY SCREWED US FOR YEARS-SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE ALL ALONG"

the principals and AD's in the smaller classes simply do not trust the system after what happened in 2004
