Ainge at 4th. Not bad. Damn impressive what he as been able to do this year. Trade after trade and went from tanking to playoffs. He also won the Rondo trade.

Wait. I thought the narrative was that Stevens took a horrible roster to the playoffs. It's hard to keep up.

How many teams in the East weren't tanking and also didn't make the playoffs? Miami? Indy? Charlotte? Who else? So they beat out the teams who were tanking and 3 other teams who had pretty serious injury issues.

I don't buy in that a sub .500 team in the east should have their Gm and coaches winning awards(or even finishing as high as they did)

That's fine. Morey has been brilliant, but nobody cares.

3rd best record in NBA

2nd most games lost to injury of any NBA team

I'll say he's built a damn strong(and deep) team.

If you rememeber the narrative after Parsons left and Bosh stayed in Miami Houston was supposed to fall off a good bit from last year. Well they were better, a good bit better. Morey finished 7th because he's not well liked.

you'll see that the Pistons GM never won executive of the year back in their bad boy days

From now on you need to get my permission before using the Pistons to make a point about the Rockets. Pls edit your post.

Exactly no one cares, because it's a meaningless award

Why not both? Do you actually think the Celtics have a good roster? They have a solid bench and some alright role players, but they have practically 0 star power.

Stevens did take a horrible roster to the playoffs. It was just more horrible at the start than it was at the end.

This. After missing out on Bosh, many media members were questioning if the Rockets would make the playoffs. If you had told those same people that Howard would miss half the season, they would have been sure they'd miss the playoffs. I've never seen a team receive so little credit for exceeding expectations.

I'm very confused how the voters have decided that Stevens had a better year than McHale and Ainge had a better year than Morey, yet the Rockets are a much better team. It's very odd.

Good thing your opinion is worth as many awards as the Rockets are going to win this year.

Ever hear of the O'brien trophy I think we can agree that it's an "award".

It's a yearly award, is it not? Did Howard and harden join the rockets this year?

No. But Josh Smith, Trevor Ariza, Corey Brewer, Jason Terry, Pablo Prigioni all did.

Who did the Warriors add this year? Is it better than that?
