Bill Walton considered one of the best of all time if not for injuries?

Had a great career in college and was on the same trajectory in the NBA.

How good would he be without the injuries and without being fried?

He's definitely the headiest

Portland won the title in 1977. Rallied from a 2-0 deficit against Dr J and Philly. Walton was unstoppable. Look at his numbers Game 6.
Next year Portland jumps out to a 50-10 record (I think) then boom guy gets injured. Just terrible.
But he did have a great role coming off bench for 86 Celtics. Still a huge What If.

His motor was legendary as well.

There are those who say he was the best player Wooden ever coached, and that includes Alcindor.
I was too young to remember him in college and I only know him post-injury.

His fadeway while in LA was epic. Unfortunately his body wasn't built to last.

he was the best center in the NBA his short time in the league.
One ring with Portland.
6th man with Boston and a 2nd ring, after he was no longer healthy enough to start.

A lot of people do consider Bill Walton the GOAT, regardless of titles and stuff. I don't remember who it was but a couple of years ago ESPN was asking analysts and coaches on the phone who they would pick of they were given one choice for someone to play on their team (butchering the question here just going off of memory but they were effectively arguing over who was best) and many said Bill Walton. I can't remember all the arguments they made but it was interesting to hear people argue for Walton.

Shoot, rebound, pass, defend...when healthy, he could do it all.
Played guard until a big growth spurt in HS, so he had all those little man skills, to go along with his post skills.

probably
you can argue he was #1 or 2 all time as a college player. he broke down with injuries but was legit as a pro before that
