There is already 1-2 more teams in Eastern Conference. So unless Red Wings or Blue Jackets agree to move back to the Western Conference, which I doubt, I don't see any West Coast teams moving East.

I get that but is Columbus really ready to mortgage its future for a now that is not that bright? Until the Pens show they can't skate anymore, they are going to win that division

Serious question, do you follow hockey?

Anyone watching the draft tonight? Golden Knights first game on 10/10 against Coyotes. Is Fox Sports Net safe to assume will get Golden Knights TV contract since they dominate most US markets? How awesome would it be if they miraculously lured the painfully boring John Kelly away, and the Blues brought back Ken Wilson? I know it will never happen, but let me reach for the stars dammit!

Very bold trade. I had never heard of Schenn until now. Any Flyers fan in here know anything about Schenn other than he scored 25 goals last year? The 2018 pick is conditional. Who signs Shattenkirk?

That's why I dislike NBC. They show Flyers, Bruins, Blackhawks, Penguins a shitload of times, but only show the Blue Jackets 1-2 times a year. Hopefully, Blue Jackets are on TV more this year.

Root Sports got their TV contract.

I had not heard that. I like the Root Sports broadcasts. Did Las Vegas get Kings, Ducks, or Coyotes games on TV before Golden Knights?

Blues wheeling and dealing again. Blues get Penguins #1 pick and Sundqvuist (never heard of him). Blues #2 pick and Reaves to Penguins. I really hate losing Reaves. Ouch.

Sundqvist is a bottom 6 player, but Klim Kostin could be a steal

I just read some opinions on STL Today Blues board. I heard the same thing about Sundqvuist and Kostin. Most Blues fans are pleased with the trades. Especially finding another team to dump Lehtera on.

I'm really not excited about Detroit's pick. Best draft position in 25ish years, and this is what we go with?

Not a flyers fan but I keep up with hockey enough to know who he is. He'll score on the power play but he's average goal scorer 5v5. Also known as a defensive liability at times.

His brother, Luke, plays for the Coyotes and is a defensemen

Parting ways with Reaves and Lehtera is a good move for the Blues in my opinion. Lehtera's production was declining year over year since his rookie campaign and Reaves is a penalty liability and adds little to no real value

Except being a dick.. He's good at that. Crosby's shenanigans will keep Reaves busy and give him plenty of job security

It's clear, Pens wanted some one to make sure players quit going after crosby. Reaves is as tough as they come, and can play 10-12 minutes a game, and not a liability on the ice.

The Pens didn't even win the division last year. And the blue Jackets had the 3rd best record in the NHL last year.

Aside from the fact that trading the 24th overall pick isn't mortgaging the future, they were protecting proven players that are worth more than the 24th pick.

And they have the youngest team in the NHL.

Schenn was highly touted when drafted, Kings took him. Then dealt him to Philly. rumors a few years ago were a big deal with flyers/blues with both schenns to stl. But Blues didnt want the older brother.

And philly has a shite load of forwards, they had to unload a center/forward or 2. Cant pay them all.

I love the deal, they needed a centerman. Schenn can slide into #1 line, stastny 2nd and barbashev into 3rd line center. Already better than last year.
