Why are people acting like Houston is some football power compared to UCF? Since 2007, Houston is 31-17 and UCF is 28-19. For all the attention Houston got last year, they lost to UCF and didn't win the conference championship, something UCF did in 2007. UCF also has far superior facilities and is starting to attract major talent from Miami, which we all know has the best athletes in the country. If UCF is moves to the BE I guarantee they'd win it within 3 years.

Houston is on the verge of rebuilding and renovating its stadiums and it's in the middle of a recruiting hotbed. Plus, adding the Houston market is appealing.

I agree with all that, they should get an invite, just pointing out that they're basically the same program as UCF the past few years which people obviously don't realize. That's probably due to the attention Houston got from ESPN and the media last year after the TT win, but UCF's 2007 season was better than Houston's last year.

The Big 12 hasn't invited them. Why would they turn down a BCS offer regardless of what conference it is? If the BE brings Houston along with TCU, then it makes sense to me. Add UCF for another Florida team, and wait for Nova to make their decision (I hope they turn down the offer).

If we are stressing football

Memphis brings akmost nothing to the table

App State no way
Rather Delaware than Villanova
TCU Impressive
East Carolina Reputation

Can have an Eastern div and a not so east

Central Florida's market is tremendous and recruiting in the area would be great. Plus selling recutis on a Florida visit each year.

Rutgers, Pitt, West Virginia, UConn, Villanova and Syracuse

So, basically, put the original Big East teams together and the old CUSA schools together. Remember, TCU was CUSA for a couple of seasons.

Can't see Villanova moving up. Main Line people are not football nuts in enough numbers.

Steal Maryland from the ACC

10 teams is absolutely stupid, IMO. Why would you stick with an unbalanced Home/Away schedule, unless they are only going to play 8 conference games? Dumb, dumb, dumb.

So, if I read that correctly, they are adding 2 football members, one of which will be Villanova. Assuming TCU is the other, Central Florida just got their heart broken.

The Big East should add:

East Carolina - Expanded stadium and up and coming program.
Navy - High academics and a solid program
Delaware - BEST FCS school available and a major renovation and expansion of football stadium. High academics as well.
Central Florida - State of Florida!

Now, if they could get Notre Dame to join the conference full time, then ND would obviously be the first choice.

Big East could add TCU and make Villanova a full-time football to grab power from the basketball schools. That would give them the majority they need to kick out the basketball-only schools and give them enough flexibility to poach two teams from the Bevo Ten when they disband in a couple years. I think it's the best move they could make at this juncture.
