The arrogance in your post is sickening, yet hilarious. The Big East should be so lucky to be witnesses to Mike Brey basketball.

Big XII will expand at some point but if TCU gets an invite to a BCS league tomorrow, they should take it and the Big XII invite will be there when they expand.

Isn't Baylor the only ones keeping TCU out? As far as football goes TCU brings much more to the table than Baylor.

This. TCU is not going getting a Big 12 invite, they bring no new market to the conference.

It would be awesome if the Big East added TCU, Houston, UCF, and maybe Southern Miss.

The Big East could potentially add teams in Houston, DFW, Philly and Orlando to boast for its next TV contract negotiations. Of course, it's not as if those teams corner their respective markets, but the conference is essentially in survival mode, and those are the best options.

As for travel, you could split the football teams into North/South divisions. There would be three cross-divisional games each year. This is how one BE fan has it:

TCU, UH, Louisville, Cincinnati, South Florida and UCF

Rutgers, Pitt, West Virginia, UConn, Villanova and Syracuse

Appy St. is making the move up to the FBS soon are they not? They've just expanded their stadium, and they always manage to sell it out. Perhaps they should be in this discussion?

Adding the Boone, NC TV market isn't going to exactly rake in the $$$ when they get a new TV contract.

Why don't they go after Memphis?

I think I would approach Memphis, TCU, and Houston if I could only pick 3.

I just love the fact that Boise joins the MWC..and its two best teams leave for BCS conferences(if TCU goes to the big east).

Nothing definite there. I believe that they just started a feasibility study regarding a move to FBS in football.

The Big East already had plenty of good basketball schools and Memphis brings nothing for football.

No we got plenty of BCS conference schools in this state, it's time for Louisiana to take some of the baggage.

Several sources confirmed a Post report last month that TCU is a strong candidate. Houston, Central Florida, Temple and/or Villanova, which is in the midst of evaluating a move up from FCS, are other lead candidates.

TCU will probably happen because it makes financial sense for both the school and the Big East. TCU gets into a BCS conference, increases their revenue; Big East adds a quality school in sport and academics, gains access to the DFW market.

Still, the union is geographically retarded. A mid-Texas school in the Big East? The closest member would be Louisville, KY. You would have member schools in Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida...and Texas. That is one far-flung conference. However, money trumps everything else and in this case the money for both TCU and the Big East is very tempting.

I would not be surprised to see the Big East also add a school like Houston just so TCU is not stuck out west by itself. Another school like Houston helps to shore up that far branch and bridge the gap. Moreover, Houston is a good market and the school could form a nice rivalry with TCU.

Central Florida makes sense because it is already in the geographic realm of the conference. South Florida and Central Florida could build some enthusiasm and Orlando is also an attractive market. Central Florida, however, is not a quality football addition to the Big East in the manner of TCU or Houston.

Temple, while doing good now under Al Golden, struggled for years and was kicked out of the Big East just a few years ago. I seriously doubt they get back together.

Villanova thought about moving up to FBS just a few years ago and there was no real support in the school for such a move. I doubt they change their minds now.

Memphis may bring a small tv market, but it does introduce big east sports to a sec dominated market.

also if rumors that fedex will sponsor the big east championship are true... money talks.
