saying Joe Montana is the best QB to put on a Chiefs uniform is just like saying Marshall Faulk and Eric Dickerson are the best RBs to put on a Colts uniform. All of these statements are false

Based on what??????

Montana was not the best Chiefs QB, that is Len Dawson. Eric Dickerson is the best Colts RB.
But the answer to the OP is Jim Brown.
As for those saying Barry Sanders, he may not have been best RB to wear 20 in Detroit. He had best numbers, but if Sims doesn't hurt his knee I think we discuss him as an all time great.

Good god you totally whiffed on my point. Again making up an argument to a point no one is making.
Joe Montana is the best QB to ever put on a Chiefs uniform. That's objectively a fact. But that does not make him the best QB in Chiefs history. These statements are mutually exclusive, two completely different statement if you can comprehend them. Just as saying Faulk and Dickerson are better players that also played for the colts in their career. As the guy you responded was implying.

Sims was awesome.. But Sanders was just plain special..... And yes its a shame he got cut short because of knee issue.. I see a little Oklahoma homerism in your post........

I notice there's no Kardedrian Treadwell on your list.

The answer here is definitely Jim Brown.
The conversation is about 2nd place and I think that's between 3 clear contenders: Barry Sanders, OJ Simpson, and Walter Payton. OJ never seems to get enough respect in these discussions on account of him being a turd of a human being, but he is without a doubt in the top 4 and possibly as high as #2.

Barry is my personal pick as I think with a better o-line and/or longer career he'd have set unbeatable records. Others mentioned certainly have a case.
If AP comes back to form for a few more years he'll have a case too.

Jim Brown
Teams stacked the Whole D on the line and he still ran over them. He ran with speed and power. And was smart enough to get out, before he scrambled his brains and became one of these drooling, brain damaged, ex football players.

Not a bad group, And I would add Gayle Sayers to the mix.. The guy was downright incredible........

OP is doing James a disservice as he's been one of the more underrated RBs of the past 20 years. But your assertion that he's in the conversation of an all-time great is laughable. It's a shame because he should be talked about more than he is, but you're making people criticize his career because of your homerism.

Its Barry Sanders.
Jim Brown is probably second, but the talent level he played against cannot be discounted. He was the biggest, strongest, and fastest guy on the field. He probably wouldn't be any of those these days with the speed of DBs and strength and size of DL/LBs. He'd still be a monster, though because of his combination of all 3.
Barry was the only damn player on his awful teams in modern football and everyone in the dome knew he was getting the ball and it didn't matter.

Holy shite, no.

Yeah it's not like Sims got hurt is rookie year or even second year.. He got hurt in his 5th season and his statistics weren't nearly what Sanders were through the first 5 seasons.
