Thing I loved about those two is Lavine makes his dunks look silky smooth (for difficulty prob best at it I've seen) while Gordon just gave us the best combo of hops and hand eye we've ever seen from a big man by a mile.

I agree. Best EVER imho. Both dudes deserved to win and both did dunks that had never been attempted in this contest. Scary good and very entertaining. Gordon did have the best 2 dunks though.

This is the biggest thing IMO. It's been a while since we saw two guys going head to head like that. Usually one person runs away with it.

That was incredible.

Stephen A said it was the best in 30 years. That may be pushing it a little.

If Lavine and Gordon don't come back (they shouldn't...let this one live in infamy), they just need to bring in those street ballers with 45 inch verts that do nothing but dunk all day. The poor souls following those two are straight fricked.

TNT is doing a worldwide contest in May. Maybe they can bring the winner from that to the Dunk Contest next year

I love me some MJ but he barely made the FT line dunk and Lavine just did an alley oop, a windmill, and a between the legs from 14-14.5 out. Yall are biased

100% here wtf was that

It sounded like the interviews with the winners weren't mic'ed up for the TV broadcast, which is odd.

I want to see someone incorporate a defender to posterize in a future contest.

Dwight Howard almost single-handedly killed the dunk contest for a few years there.

Fixed. He made the contest a gimmick.

Give credit to Gordon for making the dunks on the first try too.

This. Both of their dunks were great, but Gordon's were greater. That was the only shame of it.

He did nothing special for a guy that was 6'5. But being 5'7 and doing what he did WHEN he did it was never seen before.........

Just watched. Gordon was robbed. Lavine was great, but it still wasn't close. I've been watching for decades, and Gordon's dunks would compete with anyone in any era.

Then you know it should have been over when he did that one where he lifted both legs over the mascot and dunked. Seriously, the rules will probably change because of that and they should. That was the best dunk in at least 20 years and it was in the championship round, and dude finished 2nd.

Holy shite. Just watched it.

Both guys were great but Gordon's dunks were some of the best I've ever seen
