Has it been mentioned that both Dunkers were half white? At least they appeared to be in my 30 something year old eyes.

On Gordon's last dunk with the mascot, he got not only over the ball height on the mascot on the hoverboard, but he got 1 ball height over the ball height over the mascot on the hoverboard...sideways!

Gordon is an Olympic high jumper who can play basketball..... Some of these still shots coming out are the best ever.... How the hell is it possible to capture a players feet and rim in the same shot without him being superhuman?

Mascot wasn't on the hover board for the last dunk.

That is probably the best dunk ever in the contest when he went under both legs.

A decade is one thing...decades is another.... Go back and watch the contests from like 1986 to 1990... Unreal dunks without all the props...

Levine's dunks are "old-school" and are EASILY more intricate and complex than your childhood heroes like Wilkins.

This dunk was a "50" and won the contest for Wilkins against MJ in 1985:

This wasn't even the best dunk from Lavine last night, much less the entire contest:

Nostalgia is a terrible thing when it comes to discussing sports then and now, and the dunk contest is one of the places where it is the absolute worst. I'm not trying to belittle Wilkins because he was a dominant dunker in his time, but the game has changed. Deal with it.

It was a great dunk. If you remove nostalgia, Lavine and Gordon's top 5 dunks from last night are all in the Top 10-15 of dunks all time.

I know this is blasphemous, but the first windmill or free throw line dunk isn't necessarily the best windmill or free throw line dunk.

No doubt. It was awesome. I think Gordon got robbed but Levine was silky smooth on his dunks. Especially his first. I loved Gordon's hand behind the head dunk. The slow motion on those dunks is insane. Hard to appreciate some of the stuff in real time.
