My all-time favorite college football voice is Keith Jackson.
Keith Jackson was great in his prime. He definitely lost his sense a little bit at the end. I think that Texas-USC game was his last game and he definitely struggled in that game and unfortunately it was time for him to go.

Basketball is Marv Albert.
I think Marv and Kevin Harlan are both great. Marv is probably a little bit better IMO though.

I can't stand Doc. His "DRIVE" is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

And I agree with you that Danielson is a very good color guy, though being with Old Man Verne has held him back.
Agreed. Danielson gets way too much crap from homer SEC fans. He's a fantastic commentator who is lightening quick on pointing out nuances of plays and often calls plays before they even happen. I remember he essentially called a screen pass in the 2012 Bama-LSU game right before the Yeldon touchdown happened.

And the overall worst announcer of all-time for everything sports is Chris Berman.
This x 1000. I can't stand Berman in any setting, be it on his show or when they trot him out to call a game of any kind.

My problems with Gary Danielson is my own picky-ness but it is two fold:
1. His OVER analysis of every single play. He's certainly knowledgeable of the game and of the offenses. But it's like he's paid by the word between plays. He has to explain every single aspect of every offensive snap. He definitely does not believe in the "sometimes shite happens during a play" philosophy.
2. He almost always blames an unsuccessful offensive play on the play call itself. Doesn't give enough credit to great defensive play calls, and never really blames the players for failing on an assignment outside of the QB's. Also if a team doesn't run a play similar to what he's calling for, he will harken back to it for the rest of the game as some huge turning point.
He's better than most though. Prefer Blackledge myself.

The worst football announcer of all-time is Randy Cross.
Or Dierdorf. They are both horrific.
Doc Emerick and Vin Scully are all time greats.

I've always loved these guys. Grew up with them and Razors color commentary is probably the best in the business.
Another classic,

Fouts and Jackson were a great team.
Fouts has always been underrated. Good to see that his NFL crew is being bumped to #2 for CBS.
GOATS
College Football: Keith Jackson (nobody can argue this unless you lived a deprived life and are the village idiot)
MLB: Vin Scully (see above)
NFL: (Not announcer, but voice of the game for eternity - John Facenda)
NBA: Albert or Chick Hearn

I do like Blackledge a lot. He and Nessler are the best team in football by far.
