Is romo throwing to himself or do his teammates sometimes catch the football?

I am talking careers which is what the hall of fame judges you on.

That clearly morphed into a debate over whether Romo was a top 5 QB from 2006 on to the next 8-9 seasons.

The entire sport of football is a team aspect. Romo is not throwing to himself so yeah team records and stats get into the discussion.

For you, others maybe. Not for everyone.

His teammates sometimes catch the football. You got me!!!!

Hey, is Romo playing defense by himself? What position does he play?

Already addressed that.

We're pretty clearly arguing what we think is deserved or not deserved.

This is literally your first post in this thread;

quote:

He was not a top 5 qb in the NFL for a decade.
The thread pretty obviously morphed into a "was he a top 5 QB" over that timeframe.

You even took part in that discussion on whether he was a top 5 QB over the past decade.

And that was saying how can someone be a hall of famer if he peak was short and not at the top. You know, the reason he will not be a hall of famer. If romo played another 5-6 years at his average during that span, then yes, his win total wouldn't be looked at as much and he would be much more of a lock for the hall. The guy didn't even play 9 full seasons. If you do that and want to be in the hall, you have the be one of the top 2 in the league for a majority of that time or win a lot in the postseason

From 2006 onwards Romo was a better player than all but Rodgers, Brees and Peyton Manning.

In your reality Brady retired in 2006?

He's no first ballot but he'll get in. Underappreciated his entire career

Overanalyzed maybe but he got more than enough appreciation.

Slippery slope. If Romo gets in, then you have to let in Ryan as statistically they are near equal and Ryan's numbers should improve. Nobody wants Matt Ryan in the HOF.

I lived in Dallas almost his whole career!

The Dallas fans didnt even want him in the lineup outside of "maybe" 2 years.

His own fanbase couldnt wait for him to leave or retire or get hurt......so what does that tell you about his HOF chances.

Aint ever happening!

I like Romo, but considering how the game has changed, many of the potential HOFers of this era are going to have better stats than the QBs already in Canton.

Just like receivers.

Both QB and WR have to be held to a FAR HIGHER standard than 70's or 80's or even 90's QBs.

By far the the most difficult decade: the Dead Ball Era...the 1970's (when defenses could do anything short of murder.)

70's - lowest standard
80's - higher standard
90's - higher higher standard

2000's - laughably high standard
