Ever heard of xFIP? Do you judge hitters by batting average?

It makes sense to judge McCullers by his ERA. There isn't anything unusual about Lancaster's park, at all.

I'll have to read it again. outside of Boston drafting college players i dont really remember anything being proven wrong. Old old regime was known for liking college kids, so i made an assumption without looking at the facts, which is something i rarely, if ever do.

its fricking single A, you're the 4th best prospect in the "#1" farm system in baseball, and that's your excuse?

I listed 9 that I think will eventually make it to the show. Four that I think will be above average.

Where did I make an excuse? ERA is the best way to judge a minor league pitcher, regardless of any other factors, that's why so many people do it.

What the Astros are doing should eventually work. At this point maybe sooner than later.
But I don't think that it's the right way to rebuild.

I didn't rank them. I look at what they're actually doing.

Next round, Appel will drop drastically. But Folty will rise, Hader might make the 150 along with Velasquez and Feliz. McCullers will still be there (he's starting to look like a closer type).

It balances out in the end.

Now with that said, hopefully they take Jackson with 1:1. They're pitching is DEEP

think they are doing it right but kind of hope they have bad luck because that's the way the Cards do it and I don't want everybody copying them

As for being looked upon as an "asset" - somebody pay me the MLB minimum and you can look at me as an asset all day long. Anybody on an MLB roster who thinks they can make $500K a year doing anything else is welcome to go give it a shot. Minor leaguers get paid cheaply because they don't drive big TV deals.
