And by failed I do mean miserably. Easy to win when you out talent everyone. Bill Belichicks and Pete carrols of the world think nothing of him, and rightfully so.

Saban was 2-2 against superior belichik teams, including a 21-0 shutout the last time they met.

quote:

“I love that he’s at Alabama and he’s not in our division,” Belichick said. “He’s not shutting us out like he did the last time we played him down there in Miami. But it’s so much better that way on a personal level.”

As far as out talenting, Bama didn't have a single player drafted in '06. In '08 he took a bunch of Shula recruits and went 12-0 in the SEC. Georgia was the east opponent that year with Stafford, Green, and Moreno. They beat them like a rented mule

That articles makes the Dolphins players look a lot shittier than Saban. Perhaps that's why they haven't been worth a shite since the 90s.

Saban is definitely one of the greats; however, I think it is funny how everyone forgets that Meyer is probably having a better career so far. Saban still has a couple more titles; however, I think Meyer will potentially out do it depending on the number of years they both decide to coach.

Also as everyone talks about stacked teams. Bryant's and Bowden's accomplishments were basically due to having a large talent advantage also. So while it is true for Saban that he has a stupid incredible coaching advantage after the players are on campus so did the other great coaches.

Nick Saban is the kid who plays video games on easy and thinks he's hot shite

Pretty much, the NFL was the only time he coached against teams equally talented and on the same coaching level as him. He did well, but nothing special.

Didn't he go 8-8 in his first year following some terrible seasons in Miami? And to think, if he had NOT listened to his training staff and picked Drew Brees, he's probably riding a pretty successful career in South Beach.

He would not have been the same, different personnel different offense philosophy. Different teams playing against. Brees probably would have been like he was in San Diego, 3000 yds and 500 attempts

Cadencegate inspired Bill to go big or go home. Hence: Spygate.

I'd like to see if he can take a school like, say, Iowa State or Maryland (just picked two random teams) and turn them into an elite contender and if so, how long it would take

I don't think it would take long at all. Maybe 2 years to get the talent in there. People want to play for him, that's why they go there.

He only failed because he relied on a doctor that told him Drew Brees was done.

It was the easiest link to find. I'm sure those anecdotes were posted elsewhere but I'm not doing that much work.
