Any news on LHSAA split?

Haven't heard any updates in a while. I know at the last Exec Committee meeting, they voted, barely, to hold a special session to reconsider the split. But I have not seen anything since then, such as a date or a plan.
I'm guessing any idea of a new association for 2016-2017 is dead in the water.

They have the vote on June 8th, where they decide on the plan that 5A and 4A reunite, 3A, 2A, 1A go to metro and rural, and B and C combine into one class. It won't pass unless the turnout by principals is low, which is what some are counting on.

I think they will honor contracts for 16-17 and not sign for 17-18. I think that is part of why they will wait to pull out in 17-18.

The word is this. Private and public schools will be split in all sports. It has worked well in football and the higher ups have seen this. It is going to happen.

i believe the people that want a split want private schools shut down altogether eventually, the way they demonize those parents and kids...

What I would like to see is:
1A: all of current Div III and IV
2A: all of current Div I and II
3A: all current public 1A, 2A, and 3A schools
4A: all current 4A and 5A schools
Top 16 teams make the playoffs in each division.
4 state champions followed by the Champ of Champs competition.
First round
1A champ vs 4A champ
2A champ vs 3A champ
Winner of each game plays for the Champ of Champs Title.
What I would like to see is:

It has worked well. It has the opportunity to be reversed because you have some weak individuals on the executive committee.

Maybe they're more in tune with what the LHSAA needs than leftist principals who show up one day a year to vote... if they think the split is ok, what are they actually teaching our kids?
