Star players want to play with other star players. Wouldn't be surprised if he convinces some big names to come down here in the next 2-3 years.

No matter how good he is the team will Likely have to become a top 2-3 team in the conference for him to win MVP award. Of the players on the roster currently who can get better besides Davis? I don't see anybody. Evans. Gordon. Holliday. Asik. Etc. Etc. These guys are who they are. So unless they clean house which isn't likely I don't thjnk the team will be successful enough for Davis to win multiple Mvps.

You're right. A team can't possibly change or get better over the course of 5-7 years. They'll just stay exactly the same.

IMO (taking team records into consideration):

Curry
Harden
CP3
Davis
Lebron
Westbrook

Isn't this the same question?

Not exactly. O/U 1.5 means you could think he wins 0 or 1 (under), or 2 or more (over).

I pose the second question to the crowd of people who chose the under thinking that AD will win 1, but no more. 1 MVP may be the most likely scenario, but what is the second most likely - 0 or 2+?

Maybe so. I was just stating my opinion. Westbrook had one of the best individual seasons I've ever seen, and he is one of the few players I've watched that plays every game as if it's his last.

Where are you seeing this?
Literally, about 60 seconds to search, and a couple more minutes to skim through each thread:

You downplaying pretty great numbers for no real reason, other than it's Anthony Davis/Pels related

Then there's this thread i admittedly skimmed through. I believe you had Davis ranked lower than everyone else, or close to it. You also said he was a "flavor of the week", and he's be ranked lower next season than he was this season, which was just a huge swing and a miss I'm sure you could even admit.

I can only imagine if someone could easily find all your AD related posts. It would be mostly this, like I said.

Paul is perpetually underrated and forgotten.

1) Curry
2) Harden
3) James
4) Davis
5) Westbrook

Paul should be top 3 or 4, but I sincerely doubt he will be.

Yep. If I told you in 2012 that Curry would be the MVP and the Warriors would win 67 games and be 1 of the most dominant regular season teams ever in 2015, what would you have said?

Obviously not saying this is what NOP can expect in 3 seasons, but there's not much reason to think they can't improve and get much better over that time.

So you're already writing him off as one of the greatest big men of all-time who will have more MVP's than Shaq and as many as Duncan? I'm a Pelicans and Davis fan, but let him play before we start making idiotic claims. There's been so many players have great rookie or 2nd/3rd years in the NBA and tapper off.

I think he's 2(i'm admittedly biased towards Paul as most of the board should know by now), but agree that 3-4 should be the absolute lowest for Paul.

He hasn't nearly as much buzz as some guys, but he's certainly in that conversation, or should be.

Lebron left Cleveland bc he couldn't get stars to play with him.

Gasol chose Chicago over okc where he could've played w durant and westbrook.

NOLA is a small market to assume that players will come to play w Davis is a bit of stretch when looking at recent history.

A couple of years ago the Warriors were tanking to be in the lottery, and Curry had ankles of glass and was considered a bit of risk, so much so that he is now getting DRASTICALLY underpaid. He didn't even get the max. Klay will be making several more mill than him starting next year.

Things change. This league is far from static. What happens as the Spurs retire? Dirk gets older? What if Lamarcus goes East? What if Durant and Westbrook go east? If Gasol leaves Memphis? Z-Bo starts to fall apart?

Dude's an idiot. Saying a player wont be one of the greatest of all-time after his 3rd season is apparently blasphemous.

I agree on 2 MVPs as a given is a bit silly.

But he's on a different level. Name all of the young players who have been THIS great who tapered off, not due to injury.

Speaking of injury he's gonna have to play 70+ games to win mvp(something he's never done).

Kinda the way Dwight didn't peak at age 24? Again, I'm a Davis fan, but I also watch the NBA a lot and have for a long time, and what makes the good players great is sustained success which is rare. Remember Tyreke Evans averaging 20 points as a rookie? Who would have thought he peaked as a 19 year old.
