I normally hate the Rockets, but Beverly is right.

But at the same time, the mileage is piling up on Lebron. He's played in what? 5 finals in a row now? 6?

All those extra playoff games catch up and I can see him continuing to do this to extend his career. If he didn't take these breaks he would probably wear down in another 2-3 years.

I dont get this train of thought at all, so just bc tbirdspur lives in san antonio or roots for the spurs, he's suddenly a basketball aficionado, higher up the hierarchy of NBA fans who haven't gotten to root for a winner? That makes sense.

I think its so stupid when fans talk shite, I have a best friend who is a die hard pats fan and he thinks he knows more about football than everyone bc he happened to be for ct and tom brady happened to win 5 super bowls for his team. Just bc you root for a winner doesn't mean you're any more in the know than a fan of a perennial loser.

Serious question..

How mad were you last season when Lebron came back from down 3-1 to win the title?

He's also an owner of a team and the greatest to ever play the game, so he might get a little say so on the matter.

He does when he played 9, 82 game seasons.

From the post you quoted, where in the world did you get that "train of thought?"

LeBron sits a few games, get a ton of shite.

GS sits their whole damn squad vs the Spurs, nationally televised, and not a single insult thrown their way

Ontop of that, here's minutes played this season with even 'sitting' games for LeBron compared to a few others. Harden and Westbrook are the two to play more

LeBron: 66/72 games played, 2482 minutes
Curry: 71/73 games played, 2379 minutes
Thompson: 70/73 games played, 2387 minutes
Green: 69/73 games played, 2263 minutes
Harden: 73/73 games played, 2664 minutes
Bev: 59/73 games played, 1805 minutes
Westbrook: 72/72 games played, 2491 minutes

The reason cle took heat was obviously bc they were the second team to sit players on the big Saturday night game. If it happens once. Nbd. If it happens again a second time. Hey we maybe should bring this up since it is becoming a pattern. Common sense.

its easier to stir the pot and insult lebron than it is to stir the pot and insult golden state or san antonio

that's the reality of it though

Of course. Duncan has been doing this for over 5 years, and no one really said anything, or nothing this bad...until Lebron did it.

Which is funny because seeing Duncan and Ginobli play to 39 or however old they were, seems pretty logical that getting that rest helped prolonged their careers.

Beverley's response was about the general trend of resting players, not about Lebron specifically.

I think Lebron has earned the right to have a few nights of rest during the season due to his age and miles that he's logged in the league.

I heard someone mention recently that MLB has always given guys a day off regularly and that it doesn't happen in the NFL since there are only 16 games. I think people are complaining now because it's a new trend in the NBA. If a team expects a deep playoff run, then resting key players here and there makes sense. The Rockets don't have that kind of history yet or aging players to consider it.

I'd say the only reason Gino is still in the league is because his minutes have been monitored closely for several years now. Fans will bitch, but title contenders resting players in the regular season is, and will always be, a smart move.
