For purposes of 2 of the last 3 season lately = 3 years. For other discussions lately could mean 1 year, 5 years, ect ect. It's not complicated or difficult concept. If I ask you what lately means you would surely agree thait depends on what we're talking about.

The thing about words like lately is that they are defined by the person using them. If I say have you had a beer lately? To me that could mean in the last couple days. To someone who doesn't drink it could mean in the last month or year. even a home schooled baw like yourself should be able to figure that out.

Statistics in the previous year =/= lately

All-NBA Team 2 of the past 3 years = lately
