[]Ex-Titans and Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth admits he "(lost his) passion" for football when he signed his $100 million contract in 2009. Haynesworth made the admission in a letter to his younger self on ThePlayersTribune.com. "If nothing else, listen to me on this, Albert: Do not leave the Tennessee Titans," Haynesworth wrote. "Your defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz is a mastermind. No matter how much I tell you this, you’ll probably never realize it until your career is over, but it’s true. You’re like a system quarterback. You thrive in a very specific scheme." It's a humbling admission from a player who never formally retired, instead simply falling out of the league. Now 34, Haynesworth's last down came in 2011. A Letter to my Younger Self...A little long but good

Can't hate him for it. I'm not too sure how passionate I'd be about a brutal sport like football after I signed a 100 million dollar deal.

I don't think older Jamarcus has figured this out yet.

It's not about money. It's about maturity and work ethic.

A guy like that would have burnt out even if he stayed in Tennessee for less money.

Crazy that he's only 34. I'd have never guessed that he was younger than I am.

What a piece of self serving crap. First you have to read through the 8 paragraphs of accolades he boast about before you get to any real content. Then its just a bunch of excuses.

Sounds to me like a reason to let people know he's flipping houses and auditioning for a new show on HGTV.

Yeah that guy you played for in New England, that Bill Belichick guy who runs the Patriots defense is a real schmuck. He's got nothing on Jim Schwartz.

Russell probably tells his younger self to stay away from the Raiders at that time....

Haynesworth was such a dominant player for two or three years there. I've never seen a player explode and then fizzle like that.

I remember him chasing Amos Zereoue down from behind once & thinking wtf. He was a headcase, but Jesus he was good when he cared & wasn't stomping heads on TV.

Thank goodness he told us or we'd never know!

He was a beast for a short time then suddenly became a very average player.
