I'd be shocked if Baylor isn't involved somehow considering they are also Adidas, and well, they are Baylor. And I'm a big Scott Drew fan.

How much money were they getting reportedly? I have not read anything about this, so excuse the ignorance of the questions?

College basketball has always been a sleazy business. It's a joke, really needs to be put back to the club level.

How is this a federal crime?
My guess is that it somehow involves financial aid/federal grant money.

My best theory is that they are coaches at a PUBLIC university and are therefore technically "State Employees"

I think Baylor being a private university is insulated from federal bribery laws.
If there's a lwayer in this thread, I'd love to hear their thoughts

Then technically the FBI would be involved anytime a coach facilitated paying a player/handler. It would have to be more than that.

It involves FEDERAL money and crosses state lines.
Clearly in the FBI's domain.

Chuck Person assistant coach for Auburn was one of the ones arrested
Real shocker there. Pearl can't stay clean. It's not in his DNA.
I remember when they signed Mustapha Heron thinking that his days were numbered. That kids recruitment had "For Sale" written all over it. A 5* prospect from Connecticut signs with Auburn. Give me a break.

Anybody surprised by this is out of touch

Just 7 so far. And 4 Coaches. I would expect those lists to expand over the coming days/weeks though

When all the players involved get to transfer to North Carolina penalty-free, we'll know who helped the NCAA catch them.
