I never said he wasn't but the facts indicate he was a double-double machine like Bird was for the Celts. I'm not anti-Magic here I'm just pointing out facts.

He did most of his defining in the 90s.

Nope.

He played the same number of years in both decades (member he took a break). All of his personal bests came from his 80s teams: games played, games started, minutes per game, rebounds per game, assists per game, blocks per game, steals per game, points per games. All 80s

Same story in the playoffs. Mostly 80s for personal bests

You're saying MJ did most of his defining in the 80s, not the 90s?

What facts????? Bird and Magic saved the NBA... and to say Magic was not a triple double guy is just stupid... what facts do you have showing how bird was more productive????

Michael's probably top 5 player that decade, have to remember this is the decade when Isiah, Dominique, Moncrief, Hakeem, Barkley, McHale, Moses thrived and achieved more playoff success than the Bulls. For the first 6 seasons, old-arse Kareem was arguably among the very best players in basketball that time.

Sorry Charlie.... As good as MJ was in the late 80's... he is best known and will always be considered a 90's generation player...

More points and rebounds per game, higher FT PCT, more blocks per game, better playoff numbers than Magic it's all there.

Jordan won ALL of his titles in the 90's. Thats what made him the icon he is, not his personal bests

Magic's great but he wasn't even the best player on the Lakers for the first half that decade, Kareem "The Captain" was then Magic supplanted him in 87.

Jordan was an icon before he won a NBA title. Nike, Olympic Medal, and Gatorade made sure of it.

Was also great for the Lakers the years prior as well and Magic was the POINT GUARD meaning he touched the ball every possession, there's a reason Kareem was referred to by all the Lakers players as "The Captain," it was his team despite the acquisition of Magic, then Magic assumed more the scoring burden in 87 and therefore started winning MVPs.

That's fine, but those Lakers teams don't sniff any titles without magic.

I disagree there Peej. The Lakers had some real talent besides Magic and the West was basically them. The Rockets was 2 time West Champions but it took the series of a lifetime from the Twin Towers.

Suns, Kings, Blazers were terrible
Spurs were ehh
Sonics were okay
Nuggets just ran up and down

The Lakers were it. Mavericks were a challenger until Tarpley went stupid nose candy route.
