He was obviously anticipating Perkins would contest it.

bullshite... You are fricking blind...... Either way the ability in this shot is incredible... The ONLY other player I have ever seen that could have done what Jordan did was Wilkins.......... Maybe Vince Carter........

Perkins, the Lakers' center, was the guy under the basket who began to put his hands up just as Jordan was lifting off.

I think the move has lost its luster over the years, but MJ's athleticism, smoothness and length make it look nice.

I'm taking nothing away from the shot or its difficulty. It was beautiful, I just don't think it was necessary.

I'm 50 years old peej. I was very much alive. Just because you're old doesn't mean none of the rest of us are getting up there.

Just to get back to Magics...baby sky-hook...

The play was designed to go to Kareem...but for some reason, the Celtics had McHale guard Magic and that was a gift to take someone off the dribble.

That game altered the series and is one of the best games ever played.

The last 30 seconds of that game were amazing. Lakers were down 1 and Magic alley-oops to Kareem for the lead...

The Bird put the Celtics up with a huge 3 with 12 seconds left, Kareem gets fouled at the other end with 7 seconds left and misses his 2nd free throw but the ball goes out of bounds off the Celtics...

Then Magic does his baby sky-hook to go up by one and then with 2 seconds left Bird almost nails a 3 from the corner for the win.

Who cares. NBA is less than hockey and NASCAR now.

If I remember I thought the ball went off Thompson after Kareem gagged that foul shot. Great game. Thank God Magic wasn't built like KD, he would have gone to the Celitics after 84 and we would have been deprived of this rivalry.
