STM chokes every year

X1000

Coming from someone who experienced it first hand 3 years in a row.NHS in semis, bastrop in quarters, shaw in semis and it goes waaaay back..

We go into the big games with a ton of momentum and never get it started.. Is it the coaches? who knows

Bastrop was the only team that was maybe better... We missed a 29 yd field goal to win it at the end. The obviously had more athletes 4 d1 dlinemen, reuben randle, trent mackey, d benton just to name a few but we were the better coached and prepared team. Shaw and northside weren't even close. We should have won those games hands down.

kids from NI can easily go to STM if they wanted

Guy who ended the year at QB my senior year was from St. Martinville

The best athletes from that area end up at CHSNI. The school has produced three LSU players, two at Tulane, 3-4 at UL, and two at ULM. all since 2002.

bastrop in quarters while talented our money field goal kicker misses a 32 yard chip shot to win the game. they go on to face breaux bridge in the finals who we beat earlier in the year

shaw in semis was Leger worst called game, a healthy Mahtook and we win that game

northside high was just a great game. keiland williams ya know

Bergeron is the passing QB
Flores is the running qb

They have a 6'6 sr te and a 6'3 jr te that both catch

They rotate 3 tbs and they have a wr that will play 1-aa

They have a d-1 kicker

They are loaded on offense

Yea we held our part on the defensive side of the ball(7 points) and our offense got passed the 50 maybe one time. Quite a frustrating night and long bus ride home.

supa to say that the WR were medicore in 08 is saying a little much. ones playing at tulsa, the best pure one was fremin, and degrauw was the best player on the team?

real problem was mingo, special teams, and our offensive cord. now savoie has his shite together and a lot of weapons. the stm team this year is sick

adress that supaa

and whos the wr thatll play 1aa monrose?

i mean shaw defense was great and the d defenitly did their part but all i remember on offense was our running game not doing a single thing and throwing flys to lance. thats it

Yea the playcalling wasn't the best but we still had chances and blew them on penalties and snaps over the head of matt. We just continued to shoot ourselves in the foot. And also the only TD we gave up was a blown coverage on cover 2 by offensive player (Lance) playing cornerback.. so to this day i blame the offense.. DWA!

I wouldnt go that far. We run zone read, pa read about 75% of the time. Anyone would look like a genius with those athletes on the field.

yeah but he is head and shoulders better from we have seen with him in the past two years imo. he bottled up against WM and last year he had soph as his best players. we had dumb athletes too in 08 and he didnt utilize them well. he is utilizing the talent at his disposal smartly this year

Or they are just so talented that a peewee coach could call plays with success. When i go watch games i can call what play is being run almost every time. I mean its working but its hard to say whos to blame for that. I'd say its more the players not the coaching.

Jordan is at tulsa on potential
He never quite got to where even he wanted to be in HS

Fremin was a good receiver but he was. Slot guy in an offense that didnt throw over the middle

Degraauw was an excellent athlete that seemed to struggle with health issues

WM played man on the outside wrs, stuffed the run with 8 in the box and stm had no answer for either DE lining up wide and speed rushing the tackles

It was a frustrating night for sure

The best coaching job stm has seen was last season when they had ZERO passing attack and still found a way to win

bastrop has played a very weak schedule...a couple of weak 1 and 3 A schools...i dont know what the hell is wrong with neville this year
my picks
5a-WM stm or acadiana (two of these will play each other in semis.
4a-salmen or franklinton
3a-notre dame
2a-curtis or evangel ....again
1a-dont know

btw.....st aug is moving to 4a next year
redemp. moving down to 2a
ruston moving back up to 5a

Shaw game was played in grass that was four inches deep and made the shaw defense even better than they really were

That field took away the edge from stm and made them a straight ahead running team which played into shaw's hands

shite happens

At bastrop stm blitzed mackey every down and shut him down. Game was won except for the kicker
