Could be one of the following:

1) they miss read the meter in which next month will show a credit
2) you have a leak.
3) the water company was averaging your usage for the year and finally come out to check the meter and realized they were under billing and now they billed to catch back up

You bumped the thread, refused to read the content, only to tell him what the first page already told him?

shite man, how big of a house do you have?

I had one that high back in June. Ended up replacing everything in the upstairs toilet I don't use often because it was leaking.

Mine is normally $40 for water and sewer and $12 for trash pickup. City does them together.

Damn, I genuinely LOLd. $115 isn't so bad where I live. We have sky high water and sewer rates. Household of two, all modern plumbing, irrigation meter for outside water, $18 garbage, and our bill was $108 last month.

Someone called the board police on me.

Please don't write me a citation, officer.

Be sure and wrap those pipes going in and out of your meter to protect them from bursting in the freeze

4) The S&WB bills people based on a random number generator that has no relation to the amount of water you may have used, are currently using, or will use at any point in the future.

could be a leak between the water meter and your house. Turn off the water at the shutoff valve where the water line enters your house (not the shut off valve by the water meter). then check the meter to see if it is running. If so, you have a leak below ground. you can start digging on the house side of the meter or where the pipe exits the ground to enter your house. Chances are its a plastic elbow at the end nearest the house, which is prone to crack with the subsidence of your yard.

If you consider this high then don't ever move to Florida.

I live in a modest home without a pool or whatnot and I cannot remember the last time my water bill was below $150..

My water/sewage/trash bill is consistently between $55-$58. Even during the summer when I'm regularly adding water to the pool.
