re: Tesla making honest car dealers very angry
I don't live in baton rouge haha. I ordered it in florida, lincoln road location in miami. It won't be ready for almost 3 months there is a damn wait list to get one! They have them listed on Tesla.com for $500/month leases but they fooled me bc the lease is actually $900 if you go that route, I actually bought mine, but the $500 lease factors in lower gas, maintenance, etc......so don't let that guy act like tesla doesn't try to trick you in the door like other car companies.

Overall drove great, and I loved it.

It'll be interesting to see how fast they expand this network of charging stations bc i was told the 6 being built on the east coast won't be ready for 1 more year....still 30 minutes to "supercharge" your car won't ever be feasible if there were say 5M tesla on the road. Plus do we really wanna wait 30 minutes to charge? I got the upgrade that allows the charging to go up to 31 miles per hour of charging. I'm also getting a 240V retrofitted to boost charging capability

There is one at the HEB near my house north of Houston.

No 30 minutes at a supercharge station. Residential is 5 miles per hour on 110v and there's an option I got that boosts charge to 31 miles per hour at home. Ideally you just plug it in and let it sit overnight I'd never want to wait 30 min at a supercharge station...good news is near 300 mile range

re: Tesla making honest car dealers very angry
the only way I see those superchargers working out is if they put them in restaurant parking lots or something. I don't see much appeal in driving 300 miles to masturbate for 30 minutes and then drive 300 more...

I really like Tesla though. They seem to have a good product and battery tech will only get better. Will current models be able to upgrade to next gen batteries when the time comes?

If you bypass the dealer, the consumer is left without a convenient source for Teflon paint sealant, fabric and leather protectant, undercoating, window-tinting, spoilers, extended warranty, specialty floormats, VIN-etched windows, pinstripes, special edition badging, credit insurance, market value adjustments, and other vital items that can't be removed from the dealer's additional sticker because they are already installed on the vehicle.

Bypassing the dealer will also decimate the document preparation fee industry as well as create rampant unemployment for additional dealer prep workers.

Can't you see how bad this is for the consumer? Thank God the Texas Automobile Dealers Association is looking out for the little guy.

There's no "little guy" here when the cars start at $70k my man, everyone clearly is capable of earning enough to earn such a car and can decide if they feel full sticker with no competition is a good price. I see one rolls Royce dealer in my town and I bet if you can cut $545k for a phantom drop head and they ask full sticker and you have no competition to choose from you will pay up

Smart move by Tesla. No use in spending a ton of money acquiring real estate for showrooms when the places will eventually end up vacant once they go belly up. This way, all they have to do is pay off the lease and they are done.

How do you pay for a charge? Is there a per kWh fee? Obviously at home is no issue, but what about elsewhere?
